Read post 844 for tips on being approved for the business card.
It may be easier to get approved for a new business with 0 years and $0 gross income.

Also see the Applying for Business Credit Cards [Consolidated] thread (not-BofA-specific) for general tips on applying for business cards.

Business card Recon Line:
April 2024: BOA Biz Recon (Small Biz Lending, Credit Analyst) 888-782-7717, 888-569-4439 (M-F 8am-7pm EST), both answered by live human in 2-4 minutes. (Both numbers confirmed multiple times in the past 2-3 days.)
866-695-6598 (8-7pm EST M-F)
Biz card status line: 888 663 6262 (not working)
Biz Card credit analyst line: 888-782-7717
Biz card expedited shipping: wait 24 hours after approval for a card number to generate then call 800-901-9830 and a person will answer. If 1st Rep says "no" ask him/her to ck. with a supervisor. This worked for me.

Credit Inquiries
Credit Inquiries for Personal cards come from BofA. Inquiries for business cards come from FIA.
Credit bureaus usually merge inquiries from the same requester made on the same day.
Inquiries from BofA and FIA will not be merged.

Does one have to call BoA to lower a card's credit limit?
Yes, there is no longer any way to contact BOA online. Phone is the only method currently.

When do the initial bonus miles post? You will get the miles after the statement closes for the cycle in which you meet your minimum spend. Usually AS points show up the Sunday evening after your statement closes, but sometimes it takes an additional week.

If there's a statement credit, when does it post?
It seems to be batch-processed. It will post automatically. Can be on the same statement or the next statement. It does not appear to be based on the statement close date.

Can you send a secure message through your account online?
No. BOA has removed the secure message functionality, even for Preferred members. The only way to contact BOA now is to call them.

Can I apply for another personal Alaska card if I have one open already?
Some people still can, but these days many people get denied. If you don't want to risk getting denied, it's probably better if you close any existing personal Alaska cards before applying for another one. But be sure to lower credit limit as low as possible at least a few business days before you close the card (though the earlier you can do it the better), because credit limit that's left on the card when you close it stays unavailable to new card applications for a year or more (while credit limit that's lowered as a separate step becomes available to new card applications much sooner)!

I do not have a legit business, but I have some income that looks like it could be business. It sounded like the guy tried to input it into the system but it still rejected the application. So he just split my personal credit in half.

They only asked the most general questions, but nothing that took more than 20 seconds to make something up about.

Looking to apply for either a personal / business AS card. I've never had an Alaska card before, but do have a 5 year old BofA Travel Rewards card.

I would prefer for the card not to count towards 5/24...so would like to go business. What are changes of approval considering this is very much a side "business" with only $1k revenue per year?

Or should I bite the bullet and go for the personal version with hopes of getting a $5K limit?

Any recent DPs?

I know before if you didn't have good enough CL or credit score they gave you a crappy Platinum Visa with 5,000 bonus or whatever. Is that still the case? Does this also apply to business cards?

The chances of approval on a business card are greater if you pretend you don't have any revenue yet, etc. Say 0 years in business, 0$ business revenue, your name as the business name, you address as the business address, your phone as the business phone, sole proprietorship, etc.

If you claim anything else, they may hold up the approval by sending you letters asking you to first prove that your business exists with copies of bills, prove your business revenue via tax returns, etc!

Ironically, people with real businesses (who apply explaining their business) get more hassles from BofA that people with no real business at all who give the answers I mentioned above.

Both times I have received the business card I have put in $500 revenue, which is true through eBay, but I would hate to have to prove that. Good advice, sdsearch.

Thanks very much for the feedback. Looks like I'll go for the business card. I've read mixed results about applying for two cards with BofA on one hard pull.

Would love to get the Merrlll+ card since it will be gone soon. Any reason not to do these two cards together?

I do need the 30K Alaska miles by December for a redemption on CX. M+ points would just be icing on the cake.

Anyone apply through one of the wiki links lately that include the $100? I used the first one listed (that has the $100) and we just received the cards today but there is no mention of it in the paperwork...only the 30K miles and the taxes only companion fare. Should I contact BoA and ask?

I just applied for the Merrill+.

Is it possible to apply and get approved for an AS card today as well?

Thanks for the help!

I just opened up a checking account at BoA for each of two new corporations last week. Zero revenue thus far within the Corp, but the Corps own rental properties that have earned money in the last few years.

I applied for an AS biz card for each, and got them approved at the same time. Agent asked me the usual questions about purpose of cards, revenues, expenses, etc... Declared income and profit on both based on property rather than new Corp.

I have two other BoA AS business cards open for my main Corporation that I opened in the first half of this year.

I have had BoA AS 18 business and personal cards opened and closed in the last just-under 4 years.

So you managed to get a second (or is it third) AS Biz card, while still having previous ones opened? Sounds good if that's the case

I had two already open for one Corp, opened up two more simultaneously (one for each of the two new Corps)

No personal ones currently open

But does it prove much other than that it's YMMV? Because other people have not even been able to have 2 at the same time. (I'm not sure though if those were for truly different businesses or not. Most people don't have as many separate businesses as ukinny2000 does. )

Have Alaska personal card. Apply for business card?

I have an Alaska personal card. Is it OK to apply for an Alaska business card or is it likely to get rejected because of the open personal card?

It is possible to have both, personal and business, open at the same time. Your getting approved will depend on your particular situation, for example your credit history.
