how can i do a recurring direct deposit?
basically trying to get $250 as a reward for opening my first checking account (broke college student).
I've met the other criteria, I just need to do a recurring direct deposit of $100. But the thing is I don't work, or have social security payments or dividend payments, etc. Is there any way to bypass this? Can I give a friend $100 and ask them to deposit it from their bank to my checking account as a recurring direct deposit? Or would he need to register him self as a business to do something like that? Is there any way around this so I can get the $250 reward? Could really use the money |

And remember that the bank will send you a 1099 for that $250. It will be reported as taxable income.

This is where it's great to have two checking accounts with different banks. Do ACH transfers between them. That should satisfy the requirement.

You could try PayPal, it seems to trigger ACH/DD requirements for me so far.
