Problems using US EMV Credit Card in U-Bahn Kiosk
My SO travels often to Europe so she has two EMV/chip + PIN credit cards: US Bank and Penfed. She has been able to use them without problem in most situations EXCEPT the German U-Bahn automatic kiosks always reject both cards. Her German friends have no problem on the same machine with their credit cards.
Anybody know why the EMV cards fail on the U-Bahn? Has anybody successfully used a US issued EMV card in the U-Bahn kiosks? |
Here is a website that explains priority of EMV cards.

She thinks her friends were using credit cards, but she could be wrong. Maybe she can get a German prepaid card and use that?
