Past bonuses were:

***** #1502 - signup bonus 1/16/18 BUT ANNUAL FEE NOT WAIVED ******

100,000 points after spending $5,000 in first three months. Offer expires 30 December 2015. EXPIRED

A 70,000 points offer was offered back in March 2017 and expired March 31st, 2017. EXPIRED

The requirements for the application process varies from bank to bank based on various online data points collected from FlyerTalk, Doctor of Credit, etc.

Some banks require that you go into a branch and apply personally. Other banks want you to have another account open for 90 days before you can get this card. Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.

The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.

Register your card for online access (cno.cnb.com). This changed on Sept 19 2019.
Register separately for the award page (www.cnbrewards.com).
Register for Visa Infinite info and access at https://myvisainfinite.com/cnb/en_us/home.html

A lot of things with the card are YMMV depending on whether you have a real relationship (revenue!) with your banker.

2 PP for the account, but there are datapoints that those can be assigned to AU cardholder names.

I can't remember where but I've also heard of people switching them.

(I should probably do that, although I'm not really convinced that the people I might give a PP would really harness it)

You are right it is very YMMV. They do not really want non-banking credit card customers.

It is not Infinite card, but it does have the $250 travel credit. Probably no AF either....
Interesting. I wonder what the requirements are to get card.

Yes. But with 500 points max, I do not bother. You can if you get the time.

There's no branch bank in my state. I'm travelling to DC and would be interested in visiting the branch to submit application. Does anyone know if later I want to close the cc account in any circumstances, do I need to go to the branch or you can close account by phone? Thank you.

I do not think you ever have to go to local branch to close account.

I went looking for gc at BBBY and all they had there were their own cards, not even affiliates like world market or christmas tree shop.

And all their stuff is overpriced junk anyways, so there was nothing worth buying....waste of a trip. At least it was next to a Trader Joes which I had to visit anyways.

The problem with all the rewards plus stuff is that they are heavily constrained (min 25 max 100 and 1x time only and not at all locations around me....) so I view them like Chase Offers - basically worthless and not changing your behavior for. The typical chase offer i get shown on my CF is something like $2 off at Wienerschnitzer or something.

Is there a 500 points max? I hadn't heard that.

Does the buying of gift cards for the reimbursement count towards the min spend for the bonus?

Has anyone had any experience in opening this credit card at the DC branch? I will be visiting as well and will want to know this. Also, I have like 10 inquires in the past 1 year, how tough of a card is this to get?

Received a call saying I was approved today (Tuesday). The banker said it would take 2~3 weeks for me to get the card in the mail, which seems oddly slow, especially if I have to spend $5k in 90 days.

Application itself took about 45 minutes and did not require nearly as much information/documentation as others have reported. They asked me:
  • SSN (obvi)
  • Married/single
  • Own/rent
  • Monthly rent/mortgage payment
  • Liquid assets
    • Cash
    • Brokerage/investments
    • Retirement accounts without withdrawal penalties
  • Non-salary forms of income (alimony, etc...)
  • Employer
  • Length of time at employer
  • ID (drivers license)
Oddly enough, they did not ask for my annual income, W2, pay stubs, or anything related how much I make. Maybe they are loosening their requirements? Or I just look rich? (jk, I do not). Prior to coming in, they did ask if I knew my credit score and I responded that I did not know exactly, but that it was 800+.

Hope this helps anyone who plans on applying!

Are they OK with a 750+ score?

JetBlue food purchase

Purchased a $9 food on a domestic JetBlue flight on April 8th, today is already one week after the fact, and no reimbursement posted. Any experience with that? From my experience, it means it will no longer be reimbursed, unless I contact them, which I don't plan to (more work than it's really worth). In fact, it was 2 purchases of $9, in each way (going to FLL and returning to EWR).
