Current welcome offer is 50,000 30,000 Crystal points with $5,000 $3,000 spending in the first 90 days. First annual fee not waived. (as of telephone call with bank employee 8/7/2019)

Past bonuses were:

***** #1502 - signup bonus 1/16/18 BUT ANNUAL FEE NOT WAIVED ******

100,000 points after spending $5,000 in first three months. Offer expires 30 December 2015. EXPIRED

A 70,000 points offer was offered back in March 2017 and expired March 31st, 2017. EXPIRED

The requirements for the application process varies from bank to bank based on various online data points collected from FlyerTalk, Doctor of Credit, etc.

Some banks require that you go into a branch and apply personally. Other banks want you to have another account open for 90 days before you can get this card. Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.

The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.

Register your card for online access (cno.cnb.com). This changed on Sept 19 2019.
Register separately for the award page (www.cnbrewards.com).
Register for Visa Infinite info and access at https://myvisainfinite.com/cnb/en_us/home.html
Click "my info" to see details on points awarded.
Best* redemption found to date is $1,000 prepaid visa for 105K pts. It's now 125K pts for a $1,000 prepaid visa. Link to catalog

I mean maybe, but I haven't heard a peep from my banker since I was in the branch, so if that's their plan it seems pretty short sighted.

Sorry, was talking about reimbursement, not points earning. The person was asking about getting reimbursed for BA award ticket fees, which I don’t believe is possible.

Has anyone seen a review where someone has determined the point value of CNB points? Like the ones that Points Guy and Miles to Memories do for all the other credit cards?

I hadn’t heard anything either, and I opened mine over a year ago, but just this week I got a voicemail from her. Haven’t returned the call yet.

To be clear, this is an actual 1.3 cpp (for travel), similar to how CSR can redeem for 1.5 cpp for travel, not a made up “we think these points are worth 2 cents per point when used with airline transfer partners.”

I think Frequentmiler has the real answer for valuation as of late. Take the cost of the airfare (say $400), add on 3% (now we are at $412) and add on $15 (now we are at $427). So, a $400 airfare costs $427 on cnbrewards. Then, your points are worth 1.35 cents against the inflated cost of the airfare. In the end, in this example, it'd take 31,630 points to buy the $400 airfare, and you have a valuation of 1.26 cents/point. Your points would be worth a hair more for more expensive airfares, and somewhat less for cheaper airfares due to the $15 fixed fee part of the equation.

Except for the cheapest airfares, it's reasonably close to a linear revenue point valuation. Of course, if you want to call up the concierge to make your purchase and get the flat 1.30 valuation, you sure can!

Has everyone's PP membership been renewing automatically? I had to manually request the renewal last year and it looks like I'm going to have to do it again this year (mine expired a few weeks ago).

Does anyone know if I buy gc from grocery store, does this count as 3 points/dollar? Also, is Airbnb in the 3 points category? Thanks!

Some bankers are all over using the CC as an entry point to win banking biz. Others are (presumably) busy taking care of their existing clients and may not have the bandwidth to add or chase more customers. But I suspect at some point CNB will ask various bankers - hey do you stilll want these x accounts renewed? and I can't see why bankers would do that when pretty much ever account is a negative PnL line item I suspect. (I'm guessing on that but I would bet the FT/reddit crowds are hosing them)
