The requirements for the application process varies from bank to bank based on various online data points collected from FlyerTalk, Doctor of Credit, etc.

Some banks require that you go into a branch and apply personally. Other banks want you to have another account open for 90 days before you can get this card. Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.

The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.

Register your card for online access (Cnb.com/creditcardonline).
Register separately for the award page (www.cnbrewards.com).
Register for Visa Infinite info and access at https://myvisainfinite.com/cnb/en_us/home.html

Still the best credit card IMHO if use properly.

Wow, $250. ....... I'm still scared to go above $125.

Fee Credit

While I still may get it, my AA electronic GC purchase on 1/23 still hasn't credited. Other smaller fees have however. This is hard to explain.

Do you add t he AU's when you are in the branch applying for the card.

Or you can do it online later after you get your card?

If you have to do it in the branch, do you need the AU there also?

Side question:

Is this card managed by Capital One? I am blacklisted from Capital One, so I probably won't be able to get approved for this card.

No, as the title says "City National Bank." They only operate in a few states.

I didn't have my AU with me in the branch. I gave her name in the branch when I applied for the card, but then I had to follow up by e-mailing my relationship manager a scan of her license and her mother's maiden name.

You can probably do it after you get the card but you will most likely still go through your contact at the bank. I've never had experience calling them.

Applied in branch yesterday, Banker emailed today I was approved. FICO high 700s, income low 100s. Pulled Experian which had 5 other inquiries in last 6 months and 6 new cards since December (AmEx OBC, 2x Citi AA, Aviator Red, Ritz and Hyatt). Also picked up a Fairmont but that hadn't reported yet lol. So they seem to be fairly lenient on inquiries and new accounts if your score and income are good. Utilization is 1% or so.

Is grocery and gas still included in the 3x category?

Regarding AUs, do they have separate numbers, like on Amex? Also, would I have any trouble adding a close relative who doesn't live nearby?

Hi had a friend visit one branch, and called another asking about the credit card. So Cal.

Both stated:

1. need to have a bank account with them.
2. need to see the tax return.
