Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.
The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.

Recently, I made an AA Gift Card purchase for $100. I just received a $59.99 travel fee rebate (Not sure why I only received $59.99 instead of $100). Took about 5 days from purchase to rebate.
Hopefully, this encourages others to be adventurous.

Turns out the $59.99 travel fee rebate came from a travel purchase that occurred at the very beginning of January - so that took over 30 days to be reimbursed.
I was just reimbursed the full $100 for the AA Gift Card about 10 days after I made the AA Gift Card purchase.

I made 2 transaction on January 31, on AA eGC for $200, another one for $150. On February 3 I got the credit for the $150 transaction, but not for the $200. Do you guys usually call regarding this? I made 4 $5.60 (award taxes) on AA 3 weeks after and I the credit hit the account a week later.
