Current welcome offer is 50,000 30,000 Crystal points with $5,000 $3,000 spending in the first 90 days. First annual fee not waived. (as of telephone call with bank employee 8/7/2019)

Past bonuses were:

***** #1502 - signup bonus 1/16/18 BUT ANNUAL FEE NOT WAIVED ******

100,000 points after spending $5,000 in first three months. Offer expires 30 December 2015. EXPIRED

A 70,000 points offer was offered back in March 2017 and expired March 31st, 2017. EXPIRED

The requirements for the application process varies from bank to bank based on various online data points collected from FlyerTalk, Doctor of Credit, etc.

Some banks require that you go into a branch and apply personally. Other banks want you to have another account open for 90 days before you can get this card. Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.

The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.

Register your card for online access (cno.cnb.com). This changed on Sept 19 2019.
Register separately for the award page (www.cnbrewards.com).
Register for Visa Infinite info and access at https://myvisainfinite.com/cnb/en_us/home.html
Click "my info" to see details on points awarded.
Best* redemption found to date is $1,000 prepaid visa for 105K pts. It's now 125K pts for a $1,000 prepaid visa. Link to catalog

I confirmed that this means online applications for new customers without existing relationship. The banker still asked to be contacted directly by my friends and family (maybe there's comp involved), it just wouldn't require in-branch visit.

If you would like to be my friend and would actually make use of the card beyond the reimbursements, let me know.

I just got a mailer offering 4x CNB pts for Airline / Hotel / Car Rentals between May 15 - Aug 15.

Not sure if it was targeted or not, but its a very fancy mailer.

Additionally I was sent an email of some kind of event in SF. ($800 for a box or something)

Those might be regionally targeted but my branch is actually somewhere else.

I received the same mailer yesterday, which was very much welcomed, as I have a number of trips this summer.

Well, we've used the global entry credit on 3 cards, so maybe your agent had mixed up the terminology?

Did you call the 800 number on the card or your personal banker? Both of these questions should have been directed to your banker. Adding a new PP user would be a request handled by the banker not a central phone rep.

I always called the 800 number...

Personal banker? I only have the contact person during the application but not sure if he can be called my personal banker. Maybe give him a try.

I always communicate with my personal banker. But then again, I am a true banking customer, not just a credit card milker.

Ten Group Online Platform

I saw the HSBC Jade online concierge platform provided by Ten Group:
https://www.jade.hsbc.com/us/en-us/p...-jade/homepage

I asked Ten Group and received a reply email that something similar would be offered to Crystal Card members this summer. Anyone else know about this? Or, anyone have experience with the HSBC Jade platform?

For PP we gave it to two AU accounts instead (since we already have it via other cards). They screwed up and originally issued it to the primary accounts even though we designated AU, at first they say can’t change but once a year but called again and escalated and they fixed it. Think need to call during normal hours and escalate it up.

You can also apply as co-owner (to better qualify) so both get cards without using an AU spot but it’s a hit to your credit for both parties and each person becomes liable for the debt. For some reason the banker wanted us to open it like this maybe so he could run full credit checks against both of us? Scoping us for future business perhaps.

Global Entry is reimbursed for AU too. We just got credited on an AU account.

Yes, the person in the branch who you applied through is your personal banker. They're basically supposed to be your main contact for benefits on the card, while the concierge number can help you with travel benefits (booking/rewards). I'd mostly just use the 800 number for billing questions that I couldn't get done through the website.

I received this in the mail this week. Pretty nice promo. I'm looking forward to redeeming my points in the next year or so. Any travel redemption DPs for reference?

Can I ask how much the points were worth when you redeemed them? How many cents per point? I'm thinking of redeeming mine within the next 6 months or so. (I just hit the 50,000 bonus points for the SUB, but haven't received them in my account yet.)
