The requirements for the application process varies from bank to bank based on various online data points collected from FlyerTalk, Doctor of Credit, etc.
Some banks require that you go into a branch and apply personally. Other banks want you to have another account open for 90 days before you can get this card. Some banks (if you already have a relationship with them) let you apply via mail. Sometimes you have to be a resident of the state they operate in, while some were able to get the card without living in those states. It is very much YMMV. You will need proof of income (W2, check stubs, etc). The only states City National Bank operates in are: NY, DE (only trust office, no go), DC, GA, TN, MN, NV & CA. The bank is looking for high net worth individuals, but that's not exactly consistent either.
The card has no foreign transactions fees and is fee-free the first year, then $400 annually.
Register your card for online access (cno.cnb.com). This changed on Sept 19 2019.

Datapoints:
On 1/1, I used my AU card to purchase a SWA award flight (intl) with $58.xx fees, and also a JB seat upgrade for $65. I had to cancel the JB flight 2-3 days ago. Today, I got airline credit for both flights.
So this means that 1. AU cards still work, and 2. even if the flight is cancelled, as long as the charge posts, I believe you'll get the credit. 3. SWA and JB both still work

50000 point bonus after $5000 spend in first 90 days of account opening
https://www.cnb.com/lending/cards/in...redit-card.asp "The 50,000 Bonus Points offer is available if you do not currently have, and have not had within the 24 months prior to the date of application, a City National Bank Visa personal credit card account. The Bonus Points will be awarded subject to the conditions below. If you apply and are approved for a Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card account, to qualify and receive 50,000 Bonus Points, you must make net new purchases (purchases less returns and credits) totaling $5,000 or more, which are posted to your Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card account, as applicable, during the first 90 days following the date of account opening. Please allow at least seven (7) days for processing your application request. If additional information is needed, the processing of your application may take longer and delay the opening of your account. The posting date for a purchase may be later than the transaction date, depending on the date merchant information is received by City National Bank. Therefore, if a purchase takes place near the end of the 90-day period, the posting date may not occur until after the expiration date of the 90-day period, in which case the purchase will not be counted toward the $5,000 or more spending requirement. Bonus Points are earned on a per account basis and not on each card issued under an account. PIN-based and ATM transactions do not earn Points. Taxes on the Bonus Points, if any, are the responsibility of the Crystal Visa Infinite Cardholder. After qualifying, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for the Bonus Points to be credited to your City National Rewards account. To be eligible for this Bonus Points offer, the Crystal Visa Infinite Card account must be open and in good standing (such as, not delinquent or otherwise in default) at the time the Bonus Points are posted to your City National Rewards account. See the City National Rewards Program Terms, Conditions and Program Rules and FAQs for further information about earning Points. Program Rules are subject to change at any time without notice.
City National Bank may from time to time have Bonus Points offers available on its Personal Credit Card products that differ from the offer described above. Such offers may include a higher or lower amount of Bonus Points for a higher or lower amount of net purchase transactions. Please contact a City National banker to learn about the availability and terms of any other Bonus Points offers. Bonus Points offers cannot be combined. If you apply for a Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card account under one such other Bonus Points Offer, then the amount of Bonus Points indicated in that offer will apply."

you mean the gift registry that currently says, "We're sorry, our gift registry page is currently unavailable for maintenance. You can still use the funds from your gift registry to book travel during this time, but you will not be able to receive contributions or update your registry details. We expect the page to be up and running again in early 2018." ?
