Yup. I had opened a Chase card a couple of months back, so too many recent applications for credit. From what I'm reading about this bank, I shouldn't have wasted my time. They're pretty rough.
While I don't particularly care for Wyndham properties, my wife and I have their credit cards and have accumulated some points (50K @) in those cases where they're the only show in town.

I have a 39 year history of credit card usage where I have paid each and every bill in full monthly, never been late with a payment and have a house that is paid in full. I currently have a credit rating in the high 700's/low 800's. A few years ago My score was in the mid 700's.
When I saw the Best Western offer yesterday I decided I wanted to add this card to my hotel portfolio. B.W. properties are everywhere and they do have some properties that are perfectly acceptable for my travel requirements. I received a rejection and when I called they're reconsideration line, was rejected again. Keep in mind that I have always applied for and received cards through AMEX, Chase, Citi, USBANK and Barclays.
I don't know what FNBO's underwriting requirements happen to be, but I'll never waste another second filling out one of their applications. I would definitely use BW but only if I have a card to earn points in they're program. Best Western couldn't have chosen a worse company to promote their branded credit card. They'll also never see me in one of their hotels. I believe La Quinta uses the same bank. Save your hard credit pulls for other offers.

I was just approved for an Amex PRG card. 1K spend yields 50K MR points. MR points transfer to Best Western at a 1:1 ratio. Understand not everyone receives this offer. I got it when I went on the Amex site and clicked personal cards. I went down the list of cards. Below the PRG card they indicated this was a special offer that may not be there the next time I go onto their site.

I rarely stay at BW so I don't have a strong feel for what their points are worth. Just now, though, I just made several spot comparisons of cash rates vs. points rates for places I'm traveling in the next few months. I found points values ranging between 0.4 ~ 0.67cpp. That's too poor a value to justify spending $5k for a 50k bonus. There are better offers out there. Unless you're already a BW regular and this is icing on your cake, as sdsearch put it.

Sounds like FCNB is like USBank. I had a heck of a time getting a Club Carlson card.

I'm surprised to read your post. I never knew that a bank would pull from a different bureau for people who are living in different cities, but the same state. Unless, you live in Philadelphia, MS?

Are you sure some of those banks are not pulling both? Chase and Citi both pull TU and EX where I live. Amex and BOA pull only EX, Barclays pull only TU. Have you checked EX, or did you just see the TU, and assume no EX pull was made?
