Which of my cards do I use for charitable donations?

I'm looking to make end-of-the-year charitable donations on one of my existing credit cards. Which one do I use?

1. Chase Sapphire Preferred
2. Wells Fargo Propel World AmEx
3. Chase Ink Plus
4. Costco TruEarnings AmEx
5. Chase Southwest Plus (I got this in November. I want to hit this hard with spend in only January, because I want to hit companion pass status in only January without getting it prematurely this December. So I'm holding off on any spend on this card for now!)
6. Chase Southwest Business Premier (same as #5)

I spend $4-$5K a month on credit cards for business stuff, so meeting minimum spend on #5 and #6 isn't a problem at all -- I can do that immediately in January.

I just want do something that gives me the best bang for the buck but I'm really open-minded and flexible. I'm happy to do UR points that I'd then transfer to Southwest or Avios, or I can do cash.

PS: Yes, ideally I should just donate via check or cash, but without going into details, I'll just say that I have to use a credit card to get my business to match my donation and I can't change anything about that.

Did you just make this thread to let people know you are donating to charity? I mean, there's nothing anyone could possibly add worth anything here. There is plenty of discussion on FT already on maximizing charity donations for points. You literally asked-

"What card should I put 5k of regular spend on?"

Just use the CSP and transfer to WN, as you already suggested.

Just use which one you want, no one can tell you or know which would be better for you.

While it won't help you this year, you could get the US FlexPerks card for next year and get 3X for charitable donations. :)

If you want your donation to be worth more to the recipient, avoid the AMEX.

The USBank Cash+ Visa for charity

I know this is not one of your cards, but I thought it might help someone else, or you could apply in order to maximize your charitable giving for next year.

I love Flyertalk, and I am aiming to give back more than I have in the past, so I wanted to share that the US Bank Cash + visa offers rotating categories thta you can pick from each quarter. Charities has been an available category every quarter for at least the last year or so. The rewards is 5% and US Bank posts your cash as a statement credit (real cash, not points). I love this card.

I hope this helps someone.

Very good advice... a FlexPerks point is worth up to 2 cents, so it's really up to 6% back. (You could make an argument it's even higher, since FlexPerks airline tickets earn miles.)

Even if you add 2% or 3% to the donation amount to cover the charity's CC processing costs, you're still ahead.

Here is my top four taken from my blog here.
  • American Express Fidelity Card, 2% Cash Back, No Limit, No Annual Fee
  • Barclay Arrival Plus, 2.22% Statement Credit On Travel Purchases, No Limit, $89 Annual Fee
  • U.S Bank Cash+, 5% Cash Back, $1,500 Per Quarter Limit, No Annual Fee
  • U.S Bank FlexPerks, 3x Points (6% In Travel), No Limit, $49 Annual Fee Waived First Year

If you give Capital One’s No Hassle Giving Site and use a Capital one credit card, they will cover the processing fee for the charity.

This post contains a link to my blog, I've listed all the relevant information so you don't need to visit the site as per flyertalks rules.
