There is a $90 AF and one cannot earn the 90K in one year unless one does $25K spending.
Best way to add to initial purchase bonus of 20K is to add AUs (and quite a few of them, too!).

I've only recently become extremely interested in Virgin Atlantic and this offer just happened to coincide with that interest. Just hope I'll be lucky enough for the timing to match next time.

Looks like with the card rebrand and reimage, the 90K offer is dead and gone for good, to be replaced by a much lesser and not worthwhile 50,000 offer (if you spend $25K+/year and add two AUs...otherwise 45,000 w/ $25K spend, 30,000 with $1000).
Or anyone still able to find a working 90K (70K/85K) offer link?

The didn't only rebrand/reimage but actually changed the conditions/benefits.

If you spend at least $25,000 in Net Purchases using your card within a year (beginning on the date you open your account and continuing for every 12 month period thereafter), the primary cardholder will also qualify for your choice of: A) One cabin upgrade for the primary cardholder when flying on a Rewards Flight fare from Economy Classic to Premium. Not valid from Premium to Upper Class; or B) One matching Companion Fare in the same cabin class if a cardholder redeems miles for a primary ticket.

The cabin into which the cardholder can redeem miles for the primary ticket is restricted based on the cardholder’s Flying Club tier at the time of booking: Red Tier members may redeem miles for a primary ticket in Economy Classic and receive one matching Economy Classic Companion Fare; Silver Tier members may redeem miles for a primary ticket in Economy Classic and receive one matching Economy Classic Companion Fare or redeem miles for a primary ticket in Premium and receive one matching Premium Companion Fare; Gold Tier members may redeem miles for a primary ticket in Economy Classic and receive one matching Economy Classic Companion Fare, or redeem miles for a primary ticket in Premium and receive one matching Premium Companion Fare, or redeem miles for a primary ticket in Upper Class and receive one matching Upper Class Companion Fare.

If spending $25K per year, one should be able to achieve silver status fairly easily as per the T&C. So, that's at least a free premium economy ticket. Plus, a miles upgrade might be possible as well. And, the certificate is valid for 2 years.

Thanks. I spaced on checking the wiki. I'm just a little worried since 2018 seems to have been completely dry. It's a shame though, I drop about 20k on school for my kids twice a year which doesn't fall into any bonus category. It's perfect for a signup bonus like this, but it's subject to very specific time periods. A lot of my biggest spend tends to be in bonused categories (ie 5x for restaurants and airfare on the Citi Prestige). Losing 12k of spend in these categories is 60k TYP.

Virgin Atlantic [BOA] MasterCard 50,000 bonus
Unless there's a link somewhere to the old 90K offer (which I would love to see...) it seems like the thread title should be adjusted downward to reflect the new reality.

Not sure as 15,000 miles every anniversary after qualifying purchases (no explanation what that means) but as the 25k are needed to get an upgrade/companion ticket I would think $25k would apply here too

Thank you.
Yes, that's how I read it, too (must drill down into the T&Cs for this sneaky little detail), but it looks like it's actually a tiered anniversary bonus:
So there are tiers for both adding the AUs and meeting the annual spend target.
A lot of details to keep track of. As is so often the case, there are important details lurking behind the phrase "up to".
At a high level (for things like subject lines), I think it's fair to characterize it as 30K+5K+15K. Asterisks might be useful
- You get 7500 bonus miles on your anniversary date if you've spent $15K in the first year, and
- You get another 7500 bonus miles on your anniversary date, for a total of 15,000 bonus miles, if you've spent a total of $25K in the first year
So there are tiers for both adding the AUs and meeting the annual spend target.

Not sure who would go for this kind of an offer, to be honest. This kind of offer is only remotely interesting for Europeans (who ofc cant apply)

this card always had the 20k 1st purchase bonus. now its 30k for 1k spend. thats the main difference. the 5k AU and 15k @ 25k spend is the same. the extra bonus was 50k @ 12k spend which didnt exist when the card was first introduced. i expect it to come back in a different form. we have seen similar with chase BA 100k.
EDIT: well, not surprised. Increased bonus introduced. Not 90k, but closer than before.
