There is a $90 AF and one cannot earn the 90K in one year unless one does $25K spending.
Best way to add to initial purchase bonus of 20K is to add AUs (and quite a few of them, too!).

I guess what im asking is if there is a hierarchy of Airline point programs? Are some way more valuable than others? or are they all generally about the same.
If reward values are similar, Then I guess I would concentrate on the airlines most convenient to my location correct? or location has little to do with it, in a world where most point programs are interwoven somehow.

Rookie question, But I'm planning to fly to China and Bangkok from Texas in 2016 IS the name of the game "get as many cards as possible"? since everyone on here always talks about transferring points or booking flights with other airlines using these points.
I can meet 5-12k minimum spends on cc's, no big deal. Where are my efforts best spent?
Are these a good 3 to start off with: Virgin Atlantic BOA, Barclay US Airways, Citi Aadvantage platinum? And just rack up as many bonus points as possible and then decide later which airlines I want to use. Since they all generally seem to be interconnected somehow via partnerships.

Barclay US Airways - 50K with at least $1 spending, $89 AF
Citi AAdvantage - 50K after $3000 spend within 3 months - $0 AF for the first year
Amex Premier Gold Rewards - 50K after $1000 spend in 3 months - $0 AF for the first year

FYI: Successfully churned this CC last night a 4th time in just a little over a 2 year span. My card from 9/2014 still open. BofA is handing out these miles like candy.

Not to me they didn't, very odd. I shall try and apply again and see if I can get a grown-up on the phone if not.

Well I take it back. I just logged into my account and even getting the "declined" when I applied online I now seem to have another card. Interesting.
@enock007 so, a question: how many cards show under your account when/if you logon to it ?

Card does not show online yet. One thing to note though, is that the last time I applied and was approved, I didn't actually see an approval window popup (it happen again last night). Back in September when I applied, the application after it had finished processing jump back to the VS website without showing a status. So thinking my application had not gone through, I resubmitted it and the same thing happen again. So I thought the offer was no good. After doing a little digging around, I found out that I could go to the Bank of America application status website (I had google it) to check if I had any pending applications. Well after entering my info, there were two applications for the VS card, one was approved and the other was marked pending (which later was denied due to it being a duplicate). So if you are not sure of the status of your application, go the BofA application website and see if your application was approved.

Thanks. That is right useful and I think that if it is not in the wiki it would be a good idea to put it there. This is it:
Credit Card Application Status Center
I have 3 pending and one approved ! I shall wait and see what happens with the rest.

Has anyone gotten the 50k bonus by spending $2,500 within the first 3 months?
I didn't think that was part of the offer but when I called they told me I would get the 50k through either of the following:
* Spending $2,500 within first 3 months
OR
* Spending $12,000 within first 6 months
Not sure if it was a misinformed CSR or not.
UPDATE: Called again to double check. Another CSR also told me that spending $2,500 in first 90 days will result in the 50,000 bonus points.

Impossible to know. He spent $1,700 after first statement (less than $2,500) and then by 2nd statement, he had already crossed the 12k threshold so we still don't know if he got the bonus for 2.5k or 12k.

I applied for 90k offer, but my paperwork shows only 20k with first purchase. This is my 3rd card over 2 years. When I got my 2nd card, the same thing happened and I sent secure message and I was told I wasn't eligible for larger bonus. After replying that this was bait and switch, they honored the offer. Do I need to do this again or just meet the 12k spend and see what happens and secure message if it doesn't post? I'd prefer to not spend 12k for nothing.
