What's the best method to write on your cards?

I have a terrible memory of what cards get what percent in each category, so I'd like to do a bit of lifehacking by attaching something to the card that I can sharpie on top of. Scotch tape peeled off on me. Any tips on something a bit stronger?

Buy a sheet of address labels and print it out. Or just keep a note of the categories on your smartphone.

I use a small round Avery label and write on the label with a pen. The Avery adhesive labels don't peel off.

The sticky part of a Post-It note tends to not be sticky enough in my opinion. I recommend buying a roll of medical tape (OTC in drug store) as the tape adhesive is pretty persistent, the tape surface is easy to write on with an ordinary pen or Sharpie, and the tape retains its strength to be peeled off when you want to remove it even months or years later.

Huh. For years, I've been printing labels on regular paper, trimming them to size, and attaching them to cards using standard transparent tape. Never had the tape peel off despite regular use.

I left the activation sticky on and just wrote on it with a sharpie.

That's not a bad short-term solution, but things change over time. (Chase Freedom quarterly categories is only the most obvious example.) After a certain point, you'll run out of room.

True to others but not us because we never be able to take much advantage of the 5% given our regular monthly gas bill is no more than $60 and the 7-11 here are all cash only. Do not run up $500 restaurant tab a month either. And the AMZN is worthless as anytime one can buy the AMZN GCs with Ink and get the 5x.

Matter of fact I seriously consider to PC the freedom to regular sapphire so be able to get the freedom sign up bonus next year. Our freedoms are 7 years old and never got sign up bonus before.

For non-category bonus spend, the Fidelity 2x everything is far better. No need to redeem a particular travel expense to get the 2.2x. Straight cash to our brokerage account. Much simpler this way.
