[Canada] Visa - Purchase Security - TD Travel Infinite

Good afternoon,

I recently purchased an item on my credit card, and subsequently forgot it in the hotel. I wanted to inquire about claiming through Purchase Security.

In the card holder agreements, they state lost, stolen or damaged; but they also exclude 'mysterious disappearance'.

Does anyone have any experience with this? (in Canada)?

* It was lost
* It was not 'mysterious'
* There was "no evidence of a wrongful act of another".

Welcome to FT! Sorry about your loss. It would not be considered a 'mysterious disappearance' if you know you left it in the hotel room, IMHO. Call the card co. soon.

I don't see why you couldn't file. However, from personal experience, Visa is a nightmare to file any claims through. It takes a lot of paperwork and a lot of time.

That's why I have switched to American Express as my primary card. I cracked my Nexus 5 screen and they refunded my money under purchase protection in under a week without any paperwork more than a message starting the claim.
