Question about temp unfreezing a frozen EXP
So I've frozen my EXP to start "managing" my hard pulls. However, the last time I had to pay $10 to Experian to remove the freeze to allow the card issuer to pull my report.
I've read that you should be able to give the PIN number for temp unfreezing to the credit analyst, I tried that but it didn't work. Did I do something wrong? Is there another PIN to temp unfreeze besides the initial one that I created when I froze my EXP? |
When you freeze Experian there's a confirmation page you're supposed to print that shows the PIN. It's definitely the one you chose. Isn't it only $5 to temporarily thaw?

The PIN you received when freezing EXP is to "access" your EXP account to do whatever you like on the EXP site (i.e. thawing). You use that PIN to thaw the freeze and I believe you then receive a one-time access PIN to give out for temp thaws.
