FICO to start offering free credit scores

http://money.cnn.com/2013/11/04/pf/f...ntent=My+Yahoo

"...FICO (FICO) announced Monday that it plans to allow any lender using FICO scores to make the scores available to consumers for free through a program called FICO Score Open Access. Barclaycard US and First Bankcard (the credit card business of First National Bank of Omaha) are the first to sign on, with free scores being made available to credit card customers starting today. "

I imagine this will be the consolidated thread re: this program. I saw an article about Barclaycard, but didn't see if they were planning to offer FICO scores to holders of the US Airways card. Any ideas?

Yes, Barclay already started! Can be hard to find in the menus, so use this direct link after you login:

Got mine a couple of days ago.

Got it on my US Airways card. So is this a real FICO or a TransUnion FAKO?

That was super simple. It looks like a real FICO and, based on the results I see, probably a credit card industry specific version, not mortgage industry.

Could be quite handy.

This is rad! I had a 755, and the interesting part is that my score is from October 12th (3 weeks ago)....

Barclays says:

Access your FICO® Score anytime, 24/7, through Barclaycard online banking. It's a value-added benefit for cardmembers, and it's yours at no charge.1 And best of all, your FICO® Score will be refreshed periodically, so you can closely monitor changes to your score.

Program Features
Complimentary access to your score plus the top 2 factors affecting it
Simple tool for understanding and tracking your credit score
An alert anytime we learn your FICO® Score has gone up or down.

Your FICO® Score falls into a range from 300 to 850, is calculated based on TransUnion credit data, and is offered soley for your own non-commercial, personal review, and benefit.

Alleged FICO scores running high?

Over the past year, my Credit Karma FAKO has range from 756 to 791, while my Credit Sesame ranged from 728 to 786. As of today, those scores are 791 and 764 respectively.

I have applied for and opened 16 credit card accounts over the past 8 1/2 months, including 4 on my most recent AOR on October 25.

According to Barclay, my FICO score (updated October 30) is 827.

My payments are always on time and my credit utilization is always in the 3 to 5 percent range, but given all the recent hard inquiries, this is either shocking news or simply not believable.

It is real, as in it's a score provided by FICO - but don't think it's the same scoring model that will be used for, say, a home loan. It's the scoring model Barclay's uses, sold by FICO.

From what I've read, it is a TU-08 score, which has not been adopted by a lot of lenders at this point. I haven't had a chance to research the TU-08 score, but there seems to be a lot of information on myfico and other sources.

Where did you find it? I'm logged in and don't see it available on my US Airways account.
