AMEX Blue Preferred App Issues?
I am trying to get the AMEX Blue with the Credit Card match tool for the $250bonus. Once I log in its saying that offer isn't available to existing AMEX customer and is dropping the $250 bonus. I have never had this card, but am an authorized user on my wife's (this hasn't caused any issues in the past).
Any thoughts on this? I tried to apply without logging in and it eventually gave me the same message. |

I applied for the AMEX Gold Personal & AMEX Delta back in March - prior to that nothing since mid-2012 (and that was SPG)

Why did you log in? Rule number one for ALL credit card apps everywhere: use private browsing or clear all cookies, do not click 'log in' or 'I'm already a cardmember or customer'.
Cookies are telling AMEX that the user of your PC is already an AMEX member. It would do the same if I logged in and out, and you immediately tried to apply. |
I tried both ways and even when I was in a clean browser once I hit submit it came back and said I wasn't eligible.
UPDATE: The previous times I was adding my wife as an authorized user (she already has the card) - when I removed her it went through fine with the bonus - so I'm guessing they scan both SSNs, but not certain. |
