Lufthansa Miles & More MasterCard 50k Miles - $5k spend [expires 6.30.2014]

Just saw the 50,000 Lufthansa Miles and More MasterCard offer came back. Looks same as before. 50k miles after $5k in spending in 90 days - 20k miles with first purchase, 30k after $5 spending. There is a $79 annual fee.

Has a pretty decent award chart, I might need to starting spending on my Barclays cards.

I've heard Barclays prefers you only apply once every 6 months or 2 every year. Not sure how accurate that is.

Have one already, anyone ever get a second, either after closing first or keeping first open?

T&C say "This offer is available to new Cardmembers only."

I'm also wondering if I can still get the bonus after having cancelled my last one in February.

Sad that LH F via M&M is now a 'value'

I was able to get the annual fee credited by calling up after the 1st billing cycle. Got a speech about how the fee supports the card's rewards, but they still gave me the credit.

Interesting!
So what did you say to get them to credit you the annual fee?

How long between applications? Do you have any other Barclays card?

Wish there weren't fuel surcharges for Lufthansa redemptions but you can get some good value out of this card in redeeming for United awards domestically...

Appreciate anyone who uses my link.

Just that I heard some accounts were eligible to have the annual fee credited and I wanted to see if my account was eligible. I think I had to be transferred from the original front line CSR.

Does the fee post during the first billing cycle? If so, are there any reports of people getting it waived before it hits?

Does anyone know, if this offer is even eligible for people with a German residence and a German bank account?

Negative Event

Just discovered I still haven't yet gotten 50K Lufth miles!
got Barclay M&M 12/15, spent $5K 1/15
phoned Barclay, confirmed my 20K+30K offer & $5K spend trigger
was given case#, told "call back 7 days"...
(has this been reported by others?)
