What card(s) can/should I get next?
Hi all.
I'm trying to figure out what my next steps should be in terms of churning for miles. I think I've hit most of the major cards so I'm a bit lost as to what to do next (I'm still pretty new to all this). My situation:
I should have the Ink Bold done by March, so I'm looking for some advice on where to go from there so I can keep accruing miles as quickly as possible.
Thanks in advance!
I'm trying to figure out what my next steps should be in terms of churning for miles. I think I've hit most of the major cards so I'm a bit lost as to what to do next (I'm still pretty new to all this). My situation:
- When I travel, I prefer hostels/couchsurfing. Therefore, I'm really only interested in airline miles, not hotel points.
- Current balances: United Miles ~95k, AA Miles ~40k, Delta Miles ~30k
- Currently working on finishing the spend for my Ink Bold, which should net me another 50k for United
- Cards I have (all are still open): MileagePlus Explorer, Sapphire Preferred, Citi AAdvantage, Delta SkyMiles, Ink Bold
- I can comfortably afford ~3k/3mo in spending. Working on the Ink Bold, which is 5k/3mo, is pushing it but doable with some finagling.
I should have the Ink Bold done by March, so I'm looking for some advice on where to go from there so I can keep accruing miles as quickly as possible.
Thanks in advance!

chase british airways (u gotta manufacture spend!!)
i usually stay in sub $100 hotels also but 1 year after churning you'll end up having to get the hotel cards because you will be through all the airline ones. its a limited game.. plan wisely.

I am mostly looking for international flights. I don't mind flying coach.
I noticed the BA card, but won't it be kind of a bad thing for me to have so few miles in so many different programs? It'll be hard to redeem them when they're all spread out, right?

Currently, I'm sticking to credit cards with points that can be used on United. I almost applied for a Starwood Preferred Guest card, until I saw it takes 2 starpoints to get 1 United mile (see link).
Like others said, you can get the British Airways credit card and use it for American Airlines flights.
If you want to build up more miles on United, you can get the Chase Ink Plus card.
Has anyone here got the Alaska Airlines credit card? Used them For American or Delta flights? I saw they're airline partners with Alaska (see full list). The OP already has accounts with American and Delta, so maybe the Alaska card would help.

Thanks for posting this. I have a similar travel style, very much a backpacker. My main priority is earning miles for international flights. Airline status and hotel points aren't important to me right now.

Now I dont know what to do besides sit and wait for new products? I feel bad not working towards a minimum spend anymore.

On a whim, I looked up to see if Air Asia has a credit card. Turns out they have a bunch of them. Looks like they're only for Malaysian nationals, though. All the amounts are in Malaysian Ringgit.

I would recommend applying for the US Air card. With a AA/US merger looking more and more likely, the 40k US miles might just combine with your AA miles.
And even if there is no merger, US miles have decent value for international flights (but no one-way awards).

what you do when you don't have enough US miles for round trip? free transfer from other US airways card holder? Never knew for long time that they don't allow one way awards.

Exactly - so this is the perfect time to get in position with as many USAir points as you can humanly accumulate. And with the AA 2BM method coming to an end this might just be the way to go.

I'll have to add it to my running maybe list of credit cards.
