need help meeting spend
Fellow FT's I need advise help on meeting spend for my chase sappire.
I live overseas and will be about 1K short of meeting the spend before my 90 days up. I don't have anything I spend 1K on before the required date. I have seen, but have not paid attention, to post regarding the reload cards as I no home depot and or office depots where I live. What are my options on putting 1K on some kind of reload card or a gift certificate or something so I can spend latter. I expect to be back in the U.S. this summer so if I can purchase a gift card or reload card it will need to be valid for at least 6 months. Also I have no way of picking up the card so it will need to be mailed to my U.S. address. What about other options such has putting credit into an amazon or e-bay account. Thanks in advance for your help/advice. |

Read up on this(I just did a quick search on google and these were the first 2 links I've found)... http://boardingarea.com/blogs/freque...to-the-rescue/ http://boardingarea.com/blogs/viewfr...nd-earn-miles/ You meet your spend, while doing a little good will. With $1000, you can help out 40 people/groups. There's a chance that they might default on a loan and you might end up with a minor loss... But so far, in my experience, my repayment rate is 100% since 2009. Right after they repay the loan, you have a choice of withdrawing funds or re lending it to someone else in need. How about doing 70% withdraw 30% re lend after the payments posted? Or a 50/50? There's a moral debate using charity for miles, but in all fairness towards the individuals involved, it's really a win win situation. Good luck. |
The GC's are generally valid for at least 5 years. Also, you have to read the fine print, but they are not loaded with fees the way they used to be.
The simplest thing is to call a merchant you have an account with like a cable or wireless bill and charge an extra $1000. If your wireless bill is $100 a month, you just won't owe them anything for 10 months. I've used that tactic at least a half-dozen times. |
