Help needed for AA or United Miles
 

Hi All...

My Plan was to sign up for United/Chase 50K (accepted), Chase Ink Plus (50K -- got denied)

Also to get 2 Citi AA to get 100K (accepted)


Now I am stuck with AA 100K and United 50K to travel ROC-LHR and FCO-ROC ( I do not have to got FCO..going there to reduce the taxes).

Could someone pls suggest any other card which I could get United or AA miles to travel during September time frame?

I would like to apply today so other banks would not see the credit pulls by Chase and Citi.

Other banks will still see your Chase/Citi inquiries. Your credit report is updated in real-time.

Not true....App-O-Rama....Most people apply for multiple cards from different institutions to avoid that from what I learned. I agree because I applied for all 4 and Citi had no questions for me and got approved.

You could do an AMEX, and transfer the MR to BA. From there, you may be able to do some sort of consolidation with the AA miles? Also, the AMEX SPG (personal and business), which can transfer to AA and UA (but UA is 2:1)

The only other thing I can think of quickly would be to do the US Airways card from Barclays, and use the United/US Airways to get a flight on another Star Alliance carrier?

Those more knowledgeable in this might be able to help with the details of the points usage.

ETA: Of course there is Points.com, if you can get some points (hotel) that can't be added to a specific account (UA).

Doesn't the Chase/UA card also offer a 5,000-mile bonus for adding an authorized user? Are there any MileagePlus Dining locations in the Rochester area? Any trips coming up in the near future involving hotel stays/car rentals that can also earn UA miles?

You haven't been paying attention, then. Inquiries hit immediately. The new accounts don't, but the inquiries do.

SPG card will give you 25k which can turn into 30k on AA.

Wait 2 months and apply for an AA biz for 50k.

How many miles do you need?

I need 50K from United basically. I tried playing with AA (120K) and UA(50K).

How long should I have to wait to apply for another Chase card?

There aren't really any good ways to do it without Chase right now.

Probably the best option is to hit $25k spending on the Explorer. That, plus 5k from adding an authorized user, would net you 40k miles and leave you only 10k short.

Could get that with your short game (dining miles, a few paid flights, regular old CC spending, etc.)

Call the business reconsideration line again.

Sometimes it takes 3 to 5 calls to get approved. You've already got the credit inquiry for the Chase Ink Plus, so might as well try to get approved.

Inquiries are instant. The new lines of credit won't post for several days.

SPG is a poor united transfer, but its pretty much your only non-chase option. Can you use one-way redemptions to make your trip work?

I have been trying.....I could easily get out from ROC to LHR but returning from FCO to ROC is impossible....I am frustrated at this point......

I called Chase 3 times....They actually can see earlier denial of the review by the other CSRs. 3rd person said he stands with the other 3 reviewers and can't issue it.

This maybe the new Norm?

Taking the AA flights with 2 stops is still an option. Or drive to YYZ. Or take a train to NYC.

What was reason for denial?

+1 I agree. I use to work in the credit department of a cellphone company and we were able to see the inquiries of the other cellphone companies the customer might have shopped that very same day.
