US Bank Reconsideration Line: 800-947-1444
Use this phone number to check your application status as well. US Bank does not send you an approval/denial email. Many data points show 8-10 business days for decision is normal. Add another 2-3 weeks after that to receive physical card.

U.S. Bank Fraud Department - 800-260-8469. This is the number to call if your card starts getting declined when you try to make a purchase.

Why is the balance due on my business card always shown as $0?
There are TWO account numbers linked to your business card: The card itself, which shows up in the same website account as any personal cards you may have. This will always show a $0 balance due.

There is a SECOND account - labeled the "Central Bill Account" - with its own account number. You must set up a separate website account with its own username and password to access the Central Bill Account. This is the account that will actually show the balance due and let you schedule a payment. Somewhere in the paperwork you received with the card or the first paper invoice, you should be able to find the Central Bill Account's number.

Setting up separate website account for business card:

These are the instructions that US Bank emailed me:

To enroll in Online Banking for your U.S. Bank Business account, start by going to usbank.com. You do not need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) in order to enroll.

Please follow these instructions to enroll in Online Banking to view or pay your account:

1. Click on the Enroll Now link on the right side of the screen.
2. Select the Business Accounts option.
3. View the Terms and Conditions and then select Enroll Now.
4. Select I do not have a U.S. Bank small business checking or savings account.
5. Select I am an authorized officer of a U.S. Bank Business Credit Card.
6. Complete Step 2 of 2.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be able to view your business account in its entirety. When you are making a payment you will need to select the Accounts Payable account number.

Until the end of May 2015: "Bonus Award Night - Redeem Gold Points for two or more consecutive Award Nights and the last night is free. Exclusively for cardmembers.

From June 1 2015: free night after $10,000 spend in a year plus payment of annual fee. Note: can only be used in the U.S.

"New Account Bonus is not available to applicants who have had this Card or another Club Carlson credit card product within the last 12 months."

Forex fee is 3%

Anyone else? Just trying to see if it's worth dealing with US Bank.
I would apply for US Bank, wait for the approval or decline (hopefully instant approval of course), whether you have to wait the days or not, then apply for the other cards. One recent inquiry won't scare any CCs away, 3+ usually does it but the other 1-2 CCs will only see the one inquiry from US Bank on your report, assuming they even pull the same bureau's report.

Thanks for clarifying. Again, I should pay attention to the fine print!

I am concerned that US Bank may pull the same stunt as their Olympics promo.
There they would advertise "the premier" card but would approve "the basic" card.
I am hoping that fellow FT can inform us which card they got.
The basic Club Carlson credit card has a miserable sign up bonus compared to the Premier card.

Do you think US Bank will let you downgrade to the no annual fee card at the end of 1 yr?

AMEX is instant approval so as long as you have good credit. I think USBank has a different system of deciding or maybe they're just overwhelmed with a lot of request for this card.

Experience applying for us bank cards

I haven't applied for Carlson card yet but wanted to post my experiences this year applying for lanpass visas through us bank.

In may I applied for the visa signature lanpass card. I got a "pending" and later a denial letter, but called in and eventually got approved for the regular visa with smaller sign up bonus instead with a $1000 CL.

In November, I applied agan for he visa signature lanpass card. Again I did not get instant approval. Called in. Got another visa (non signature) with a $1500 CL and a second sign up bonus. Within about a week, they swapped out the second visa for a signature.

I have excellent credit.

I think a lot of people dislike us bank because it is a lot more work to get approved and you get tiny credit limits, plus they approve you for a lower card than you applied for.

My experience as a Gold:

Country Inn & Suites- no gift-when asked for one, told no gift
Radisson: Bag gift with water bottle, chips, chocolate, mints
Park Inn: Same as Radisson.

Somewhat odd but better than nothing.....................

Got a “you’ll be notified in 7-10 days” on app submission and I’ve got all 740+ scores, another card with USB that's 3+ years in good standing, and current carlson gold status…

Any tips for US Bank recon?

They declined me at first. I called recon and the person was very surprised I was rejected (N.B. my score was right around 700 according to them, no negatives though). She sent it back for a second look and I was approved for $5k. I opened a checking account shortly before applying for the card, hoping to grease the wheels a little.

Did they have to do a second hard pull when you called for the Recon?
