US Bank Reconsideration Line: 800-947-1444
Use this phone number to check your application status as well. US Bank does not send you an approval/denial email. Many data points show 8-10 business days for decision is normal. Add another 2-3 weeks after that to receive physical card.

U.S. Bank Fraud Department - 800-260-8469. This is the number to call if your card starts getting declined when you try to make a purchase.

Why is the balance due on my business card always shown as $0?
There are TWO account numbers linked to your business card: The card itself, which shows up in the same website account as any personal cards you may have. This will always show a $0 balance due.

There is a SECOND account - labeled the "Central Bill Account" - with its own account number. You must set up a separate website account with its own username and password to access the Central Bill Account. This is the account that will actually show the balance due and let you schedule a payment. Somewhere in the paperwork you received with the card or the first paper invoice, you should be able to find the Central Bill Account's number.

Setting up separate website account for business card:

These are the instructions that US Bank emailed me:

To enroll in Online Banking for your U.S. Bank Business account, start by going to usbank.com. You do not need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) in order to enroll.

Please follow these instructions to enroll in Online Banking to view or pay your account:

1. Click on the Enroll Now link on the right side of the screen.
2. Select the Business Accounts option.
3. View the Terms and Conditions and then select Enroll Now.
4. Select I do not have a U.S. Bank small business checking or savings account.
5. Select I am an authorized officer of a U.S. Bank Business Credit Card.
6. Complete Step 2 of 2.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be able to view your business account in its entirety. When you are making a payment you will need to select the Accounts Payable account number.

Until the end of May 2015: "Bonus Award Night - Redeem Gold Points for two or more consecutive Award Nights and the last night is free. Exclusively for cardmembers.

From June 1 2015: free night after $10,000 spend in a year plus payment of annual fee. Note: can only be used in the U.S.

"New Account Bonus is not available to applicants who have had this Card or another Club Carlson credit card product within the last 12 months."

Forex fee is 3%

This is a disturbing development.
Please let us know how it turns out the next time you try it.
Thanks.

It's not unusual to get the fraud decline but usually they can release the block. Sounds like that part didn't work. Maybe call before you go again to verify that the block has been lifted.

The weird thing is I bought my first VR card + a few other items this Sunday with no issue, so I thought it would be smooth from now on. :-( My credit limit is 17k, and I got the card on 10-19-2013, applied with instant approval on 10-8-2013. I might try again tomorrow or later this week.
this gets easier over time as they get used to the VR charges.. often, I've responded by text right away and the transaction went through at teh second attempt

Thanks for clarifying.

Thank you.

Should I expect a real invoice in the mail with a balance due or will it be another month before I am billed? I completed the required spend early in the billing period and expected to see the points show up after close.
Had this same thing happen, and finally found out I needed to create another online account after my 2nd statement posted. But I haven't seen any of the points (which show up under View Rewards History) actually post to Carlson yet. Anyone else have this problem?

Did they create a separate Club Carlson account for your business card? I have two Club Carlson accounts and the points from my personal card post to the 1st Club Carlson account and my business card points post to the 2nd Club Carlson account.

Same thing I did, in order to maximize the last night free benefits of cards (as you can stay 2 nights with personal, then stay 2 nights with biz, and only use points for 2 of the 4 nights this way)

This happened to me too on 10/21, but at RA buying moneypaks. The cashier insisted she ring one at a time. 1st one worked. 2nd one (identical charge, should have said $495 or something), gets declined. FA on phone goes off, I fix it and tell the cashier lady forget it and leave. I go to CVS and try to buy $5k of VR, declined! Haven't tried to fix it yet.

All of my spend on this card is MS.

Did you have any late/interest fees because of that? A quick phone call had them waive/refund those for me without even needing to explain why I missed my first payment.

Question on this card - my wife was denied - she called the reconsideration line and the US Bank rep said that an outside company (she listed ARS) does their credit card processing and that it may have been flagged if she had made "numerous" CC applications recently (certainly possible )

The US Bank rep suggested that my wife call ARS, but that doesn't seem like that would be fruitful - anyone have experience or advice with this?

As stated many times in the thread, should have froze ARS and IDA ahead of time. Sounds like she has already been confirmed rejected by ARS, and I highly doubt US Bank rep would override that, even if there was another pull to ARS that was clean.

It can be overridden. One way is to find a phone rep who is sympathetic, who will write a positive recommendation on your application and have it resubmitted.

Beyond that, I'm going to say this as gently as possible... OP, did you read the wiki? It's almost entirely dedicated to ARS, with links to more info........

Can be and will be are worlds apart, I've found a growing appreciation for Chase and even Citi the more and more I've dealt with US Bank.

But as always thank you for the insight.

Thank you for the gentleness . I did read the wiki but did not read the right tone - read it as a "could do" instead of a "should" do. Lesson learned

Somehow there isn't a late fee on the 2nd statement. One of life's mysteries.

I don't think a 2nd Carlson account was created -- I recall entering my existing one into the application. Currently they're giving me baloney about it taking 6-8 weeks for points to post. So I'll be calling back in 2 weeks I'm sure.
