US Bank Reconsideration Line: 800-947-1444
Use this phone number to check your application status as well. US Bank does not send you an approval/denial email. Many data points show 8-10 business days for decision is normal. Add another 2-3 weeks after that to receive physical card.

U.S. Bank Fraud Department - 800-260-8469. This is the number to call if your card starts getting declined when you try to make a purchase.

Why is the balance due on my business card always shown as $0?
There are TWO account numbers linked to your business card: The card itself, which shows up in the same website account as any personal cards you may have. This will always show a $0 balance due.

There is a SECOND account - labeled the "Central Bill Account" - with its own account number. You must set up a separate website account with its own username and password to access the Central Bill Account. This is the account that will actually show the balance due and let you schedule a payment. Somewhere in the paperwork you received with the card or the first paper invoice, you should be able to find the Central Bill Account's number.

Setting up separate website account for business card:

These are the instructions that US Bank emailed me:

To enroll in Online Banking for your U.S. Bank Business account, start by going to usbank.com. You do not need a Personal Identification Number (PIN) in order to enroll.

Please follow these instructions to enroll in Online Banking to view or pay your account:

1. Click on the Enroll Now link on the right side of the screen.
2. Select the Business Accounts option.
3. View the Terms and Conditions and then select Enroll Now.
4. Select I do not have a U.S. Bank small business checking or savings account.
5. Select I am an authorized officer of a U.S. Bank Business Credit Card.
6. Complete Step 2 of 2.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be able to view your business account in its entirety. When you are making a payment you will need to select the Accounts Payable account number.

Until the end of May 2015: "Bonus Award Night - Redeem Gold Points for two or more consecutive Award Nights and the last night is free. Exclusively for cardmembers.

From June 1 2015: free night after $10,000 spend in a year plus payment of annual fee. Note: can only be used in the U.S.

"New Account Bonus is not available to applicants who have had this Card or another Club Carlson credit card product within the last 12 months."

Forex fee is 3%

It is based on spending in the 12 months before the annual fee is assessed, so if you've already spent 10k since your last annual fee, you don't need to spend any more.

Hi all, I will be embarking on a journey to Europe soon and the destination I've chosen has a bunch of Club Carlson properties. I'm wondering how long the bonus from opening the credit card (and having done the initial purchase) takes to post to my Club Carlson account. Thanks!

If you've hit the minimum spend during this billing period, then it's usually a few days after the billing period ends. If I remember correctly, mine took a bit longer though....never found out why.

If you're hotels are down to the final room, and there's award availability for it, I would book it with a refundable rate just to hold, then when your points post, return the room and rebook it with points. This has worked for me a few times in the past. However, I never did it with CC, so make sure you check their refund policy and if that you'll be able to get a refund without penalty due to the fact your trip is close.

I was denied a CC credit card earlier this year. How long should I wait before applying again? Also, are business cards without EIN number any easier to get than personal cards.

Seems they're not letting anybody downgrade biz card to a no annual fee card. Anybody have luck doing so?

I spent quite a bit on my card, and then renewed it in June. DW spent a bit less, but also renewed early Summer. I got a certificate only good in the US and DW got nothing. Then I read on a blog that you can SM CC thru your cc website and ask for the certificate. I did that, making sure to specify "worldwide" certificate, then composed a similar message for DW to SM. A couple of weeks later DW got a phone call telling her she will eventually get the certificate. I was worried since I didn't get a call, but yesterday got a snail mail letter telling me the same thing.

So if you didn't get a "worldwide" free night certificate, SM CC, tell them how sad you are about the new award rules, and politely request the cert. Tell them several of your "friends and co-workers" have already gotten one, and you'd like one too.

I know a lot of people got a free night for keeping the USB CC card open. I think a blogger even got the free night a couple months ago and another one after calling to close the card in the past couple weeks. I was given a free night a couple months ago after complaining but when I called to close, I was given nothing, but backed out of canceling. I then called in as my dad, who did NOT get the free night recently, and he got no offer at all. I said I want to close my account and the CSR was ready to proceed. I asked to speak with a retention specialist and he said there was nobody to talk to, and again I said I would think about it. I'm not very familiar with USB-- if I told him to proceed, would he transfer me to a specialist at that point? Or would it actually be closed?

Probably not. My wife called to cancel, the CSR asked why and canceled it....less than 30 seconds of interaction.

I called them twice, and my situation is similar to yours. On my second call, after being informed that there was no offer for me, I asked them to cancel the card. I was not transferred to any retention specialist. I think you would have to ask to speak to a supervisor if you really want to receive any offer. I didn't really want to keep the card, so I did not push it further.

Data Point for Biz card

Signup bonus spend only counts for the primary account holder. Any authorized user spend does not count toward the minimum spending requirements. Learned this the hard way, on hold with a supervisor now to plead my case

Neither New Account Bonus is available to applicants who have had this Card or another Club Carlson credit card product within the last 12 months.
Does it mean I have to wait for 12 months after my old CC account is closed before I can re-apply and receive the bonus?

Quick question. My first statement just closed - and the $75 AF hit my account. Once my points hit(if they hit soon) my account, can I cancel the card and avoid paying the AF?

US Bank does not award the bonus UNTIL after you have paid the AF precisely to prevent people doing this to them. The bonus will post one statement after you paid the AF - this is the same for both the sign up bonus and the renewal bonus, unless the bank has changed the practice.

Just checked my club carlson rewards account and they posted the points to my account! So maybe they changed...

My plan was to sell the points to a broker, but a broker won't even bother buying 100k. I honestly don't even know if I will use the points so that is why I am canceling. I should have researched the credit card / value of the points before applying.

Wow.

I hope you dont plan on getting a mileage card and then sell the miles to a broker... lots of sob stories from that front.

Cancelling the card does not affect your ability to use the points.
