Credit line increase surprise

I got tired of the 8k starter credit line on my year old DL Reserve Amex so finally called Amex for a credit line increase. After a short chat with the CSR asking me how much I wanted ("how about 16?") and what was my current annual income, I was told to wait for the answer in the mail.
Here's what I got:

...so what do I do now?

Holy crap!! That is insane, I think you should call them because your credit utilization will look like its 0% which isn't a good thing.

Thats hilarious though.

My question to OP:

Does AMEX online access show the same line?

Agree with above posters: Check your account online. Call.
Or go shopping. ;)

Then here is another one - what can possibly cost $1.6 million and you can use a credit card to purchase it? :D:D:D

(Beside - they are meant to be repaid.)

I'm going to call tomorrow. I'll have fun just looking at it for now.

Better not get mugged tonight on the way home.

Hilarious.

It doesn't mean it'll actually spend without a fraud alert and FR killing you first :).

For novelty sake, it'd be funny to see that report to experience.

Was not expecting this when I clicked on this thread, extremely funny!

OP could call up Chase and Citi to ask what they have done for him lately...:D

What's your daily ATM limit? :)

pattermj Oct 17, 2012 9:58 pm

Hmm that would be a fun toy to play with, until it came due

Strangely, I can't find where on the website the cash limit is.

Points earning, hopefully.

Buy a 1.59 million diamond from Costco, and then take it back for a check. :) kidding, just kidding!

Someone on another website got a CLI to $10k, it showed 1mil. You'd think they'd be smart enough to put the decimal points in the right place.

OP - it is best you touch nothing.

1. If this is for real and AMEX does not catch that, your credit report will look so much good (but don't expect extending any more credit at all).

2. I don't know if this new line shows up in credit report yet, but AMEX can't really reduce it (credit reduction is an adverse action).

3. Your credit utilization ratio will look extremely good.

LOL!! This is the first time I've seen something like this, so funny
