Thanks Pokee and guv1976.
My main concern is transferring 100k UR points then not getting the seats. But that's park of the process, so I want to make sure I've got it down. If I go to the AS website and put the dates in (eg. 7/11-7/17), check "use points" and the fare shows "supersaver/choice", how do I know how many supersaver seats are available? The "seats" tab doesn't differentiate. Best to do your research first checking availability before transferring the points. Availability looks to be there on Super Saver 11 months in advance, but no direct flights (which means extra segments and a lot more points if using Avios). Hope it works out for you! I am not sure it's going to work out for me, since I will likely be trying to book 5 people (single segment is all I will be able to afford), and they appear to be snapped up the day the seats are released. :( I am convinced single segment, super saver Seattle-Hawaii flights are probably the hardest flight to redeem on points on AS, because they're the best deal going when booking through BA... |

UPDATE: So far I have in my account: 43k UR Chase pts, Husband has 58k United CC points his UA account and I less than 2k from previous travels.
Looking at award flight with one leg of it business class shows up at 60k per person. Economy is 40K . Looking at Roc to SFO to OGG from ITO or KONA to ROC mid-end of Jan 2014 ( can only see up to Nov but I am using 2013 as an example) Is there a better way to use the pts? I will post on the United thread to see if anyone can respond |
