Card suggestion for wife

My wife and kids are traveling to Malaysia in couple of weeks.

Is there a card that she can apply for to get lounge benefits in LAX and Hong Kong airport. (she will most likely fly in American/Cathey but also checking Delta as I am Platinum and have 4 upgrade vouchers with them.

She just recieved the offer for United MileagePlus card with club benefit and annual fee waived. Would that be a good fit? It says that it may take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the club card.

Appreciate any suggestions from the experts.

I recently applied for the United Explorer card from Chase. Fee waived 1st year, 50k UA miles and two UA club passes all received within 4 weeks of signing up.

Passes dont include guests

I don't think those passes would allow guests, even dependent children, but maybe someone has first hand experience.

FYI your DL Platinum SWU voucher can only be use only if you are flying and they are on your PNR.

It usually takes about a week for UA Club access to be added to her United account after the application. However, she won't receive her U Club membership card for about 3-4 weeks. She will need this if wants to access non United alliance lounges while she is flyin on *a flights. This may be an issue for the international flights.

If she travel often, AMEX Platinum with Priority Pass Select for lounge access.

The Ameriprise World Elite Mastercard gives the same lounge benefit with a much lower annual fee.

You can try the United club card and request they waive the fee the first year.
