Advice for a newbie for new cc apps

I am love to travel, but with a cheap hubby and 2 small kiddos, it takes a lot of negotiations to make it happen very often. I have been lurking/researching these boards for about a month now trying to figure out some strategies to apply for some new cards.
Our home airport is GEG, so we have limited airline options. We mainly travel to LA area and MCO for disney trips and BHM for family. Checked my and my hubbys FICOs and we are in mid-upper 700's, with no mortgage or car loan anytime in next 2-3 years at least.

Currently I have:
Chase SW Premier 4/12 50K
Chase SW Bix 4/12 50K (trying to earn last few miles to get CP...thanks FT)
Chase Disney 7/05
Costco Amex 7/05

Have had in the past:
Chase United
BoA AS

I would really like to do the SPG Amex, but am on the fence about waiting for bonus to go back up again.
We are Marriott gold, got hubby the Chase Marriott 4/12 70K.
Other ideas....would like to open about 2-3 more to build up either airline or hotel points.

Thanks!

I'm not sure the AA routing on the west, but Chase BA cards would be good for your hubby (hard to get a 3rd approved in one month I think?)

You could also go for the Delta Gold 35k from Amex, and get your hubby to get the Chase Sapphire; Those have so many transfer options. Alaska Airlines could be good w/ the companion pass too...

I'm not a vet on this but those options are decent? Someone w/ a lot of xp want to chime in?

Chase Sapphire preferred, Delta Gold 35k, or Alaska w/ companion ticket could all be good? I'm not veteran but those could be good options for your spot...

I didn't think it was a good idea to sign up for any more chase cards so quickly...currently their cards are the bulk of my credit. I am looking for advice on other cards from BoA, Citi, Barclays.....thanks ;)

You will see me post the same thing in dozens of threads... don't look to use points for hotels, use Priceline's Name Your Own Price. If you know what you are doing you will get 50-65% off the "street rate" which is a much better deal than using points. PM me for my Priceline Primer.

I appreciate that advice, we do use Priceline for my husbands business travel once in a while when we know that there most likely won't be a reason to cancel. However, with 2 small children it is sometimes difficult to prepay for accomodations that may or may not end up taking place due to sickness, etc. Also, with Marriott we are able to stay in rooms that have kitchenettes, and/or separate bedrooms which makes travel much easier with a family! ;)
