In need of a Visa CC with points towards DL
 

As expressed in the title, I am in need of a Visa CC with a great signup bonus that will allow me to put points towards DL. I've currently got a DL Gold AMEX card, but I would like to add a Visa CC to the mix.

Also, is it common/safe practice to cancel cards that you have to resign up and get the same bonus again? If possible, would consider doing this with AMEX. I have had the card for over a year now. Thanks in advance!

Not sure if there's a direct way to earn. Maybe by transferring? I think Chase Ultimate Rewards points can transfer to Korean, which is in SkyTeam?

It depends on the card issuer. AMEX tends to be very restrictive. Rumor is that cards have to be canceled at least 2 years to get a bonus again, otherwise AMEX will only give the difference between the new signup bonus and the original.

If you are ok with signing up for new cards, consider the SPG AMEX - Starpoints transfer with a bonus to Delta in high volume: 20k SPG -> 25k Delta... current best offer is 25k for signup. Sometimes gets up to 30k.

AFAIK, Delta only partners (directly) with Amex, not Visa (or MC). If anyone knows of a Visa or MC card (especially with a good fat sign-up bonus) that directly earns DL miles, I'd like to hear about it.

As MDtR-Chicago suggests, the SPG Amex is a good way to go if Amex is OK for you. I've got the SPG Amex, and am looking for the next Amex card (SPG or other) to get for mrs. nwflyboy - she only has the Delta gold Amex.

Actually, I'm planning to close both our Delta Gold Amex cards (we each have one) in the next few weeks in advance of the annual fee coming due. The plan is to leave that fallow for 2 years, then try applying again, hoping to test the theory that one can indeed get the signup bonus a second time - if you're patient enough. We'll see.

In the mean time, I'm looking for the next Amex card to get to replace the Delta gold Amex for the wife - need at least one Amex (since that's all that Costco accepts).
