Question about Extra Points on Travel Spending
 

Some credit cards offer extra points for money spent on travel. Does this include metro fares or Zipcar reservations? Living in DC, I regularly spend a decent amount on both.

I tried searching, but didn't have any luck. Thanks!

Not sure of the answer to your questions but someone here might know. Car rentals should count as "travel" points.

I believe that metro fares and car rental currently qualify for double points with the Chase Sapphire Preferred.

Does anyone know if cruise bookings or money spent onboard a cruise ship (which would then be charged under the cruise line name) are eligible for bonus travel points as well?

Awesome, thanks. I figured the metro fares would, but I wasn't sure if Zipcar would count as a car rental since I never see them listed with the other major rental companies.

There is a good chance these items will count. My CapitalOne card shows metro bus fares as "travel expenses" that get treated like other travel expenses.
