I had my first fraudulent charge a few weeks ago on my Ink Bold card. Someone was trying to buy Air Canada tickets.

Got an email from Chase last week alerting me of 3 attempted charges for an escort service in the UK. I called and they cancelled my Sapphire and issued a new one.
Looking at my statement to see when and where somebody could have gotten hold of the card: The only charges I made during the last couple of month was during a trip to Belize, where I used it extensively due to no foreign transaction fees....go figure..... |
CSP and INK both were skimmed in some way, fraud dept says could have also been an insecure site. Must have been AP :p
Fake cards dinged in Texas, and Illinois. Definitely a sell off scam, organized. |
My sock drawer-ed Fidelity 1.5% Visa got dinged for $300 from Mercedes for their version of Onstar. Showed up on mint today, was charged two days ago. Called FIA who patched in MB, MB will issue a credit without much fuss. I had to prompt FIA that maybe we should shut the card down.
It had to be random error or most likely a database issue. I only have had the card since May, and hadn't used it since June. |
I also got a fraud alert today. On my 1 year old, Presidental plus that I wanted to close for an Explorer. Well aside from the inconvience of timing, I did get what I wanted.

Have had two incidents in the past 2 months. Citi first called to say my card was compromised and they would need to close (no fraud charges were attempted), then just a couple days ago Chase called to verify an attempt that was indeed fraud. I use the Chase card occasionally but almost strictly for online purchases.

I had an issue with my Chase Sapphire card a few months ago for someone trying to buy stuff in a different state. Chase re-issued a new card and I no longer have the original thick and heavy card. :-(
That's the only card I've had an issue with in 10+ years. |

wife got her first chase biz card =IB card, made purchases big and small and always paid off in full every week before due date. 2 days ago I tried her card and it didn't work.
called chase and transferred to fraud dept, refused to give me any info and kept asking me to give them call back number, i requested the manager few times and she than agreed to help it resolve on phone by verifying some info and the charges and it now works fine! |
