Which VISA or MC?

I have some unusual spending opportunities coming up all around the same time but none of them allow AMEX - have to use VISA or MC.

1) One of my rentals had a house fire and insurance co. will allow me to pay the contractor for certain expenses and then be immediately re-imbursed. This should amount to about $6000.

2) Both of my adult daughters want to buy a car next month. At least one of them wants to pay cash - but a part of that could be charged to VISA or MC. Not sure how much could be put on cc (or possibly a couple of cards if I only get a $5000 spending limit)

3) Anyway, I want to make some immediate apps for cc's to use for these purchases ( so I can get as many bonuses as possible ) but I'm not sure which cards to apply for. I'd love to put them on Starwood, if only they had a VISA or MC.

Any suggestions?

Chase Sapphire Preffered, for sure. Best card available, in my opinion.

It's hard to say without knowing anything about what you collect! You didn't even explain whether you use the SPG card for hotel stays or for airline transfers (and if so to which airline or airlines)?

Each card earns something different, and every program has a different mix of partners. There is no card exactly like the SPG Amex that's an MC or Visa, so without you explaining what you want from such a card (in terms of what program or programs you're trying to get points/miles in) it's hard to say.
