Bank of America Reconsideration?
Has anybody succeeded in getting Bank of America to reconsider an application? http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Cred...date_ascending has a bunch of numbers. Looking for Virgin Atlantic card approval.
800-718-6072 got me a credit analyst for existing credit. He was willing to transfer my existing line to a new Bank of America branded card but not to a loyalty card. Then he transferred me to 877-721-9405 but that was new applications. New applications will tell you to wait for the mail.
800-732-9194 got me applications with option 1 to apply, 2 for approved cards, and 3 to hear you've been rejected.

I applied for the BOA Alaska Visa Sig and was denied a couple days ago. Called 877-721-9405 and asked for reconsideration. Then was transfered to a nice credit analyst. She asked a few questions and approved my card right away.
Hope it helps somehow!

Quantum is an anonymous brand of Bank of America. Bank of America does cards for other banks e.g. Bank of Hawaii's Hawaiian Airlines card. Bank of Hawaii doesn't want the line to say Bank of America, so the line uses a generic name.

After applying for an Alaska Airlines and Virgin Atlantic at the same time, I was declined for one of them. I used the 866-458-8805 phone number, explained I have a very good credit score, assiduously pay off my credit cards when due, and handle my credit extremely well. The analyst asked why I wanted another card; I said it's an excellent card. The credit analyst agreed and approved me for the other card. YMMV.

I got a reject letter today for the Virgin card. Called 866-458-8805 and they apologized and approved me on the spot. They said I'd been rejected due to a "short credit history" (basically since 2005) - the date I moved from the UK. Far pickier than AMEX, Chase and Citi who have never had a problem in the dozens of applications I've made with them over the last couple of years.
