What about BoA? I don't have a lot of their cards, only 2, with the newest card opened only 3 months ago. But the last time I called, they reluctantly approved my app.

Would I be pushing it by applying again this month? How stringent in BoA relative to the other card issuers?
Based on my experience, they are VERY churn friendly (top of the heap of banks based on my experience)...

Same experience today - very friendly bilingual agent after holding for a while to get connected but well worth it. He seemed to be going out of his way to find ways to approve a pending/under review application. Painless...let's hope the Spanish line continues to be open for recon calls and doesn't get shut down like other lines have. Thanks again to Pedro for posting this treasured number.

How soon did you call after you got the "application pending" notice online?

I've called BOA recon within the hour from submitting an app that went pending and gotten it manually approved.

Called a day after I was sent to "further review" and was instantly approved for $10k on the Fidelity Amex.

FYI none of the recon lines listed in prior posts are still working, with the exception of the Spanish-language line 866-865-7843

My experience was exactly the same. The Spanish line is still working, thanks!

Am getting the bf in on the game and of course he made a simple mistake on his first app that yielded the "we will get back to you with a decision" message, but just had him call the Spanish # (thanks PedroNY!!) and turns out he had already been approved and his card is on the way! Ps - the expression on the already-baffled-the-game bf when I told him he'd be calling a Spanish recon line but to just wait through the voz hablando en espaol to get to a bilingual agent - priceless

+1 for spanish line. Applied for the VA BOA card yesterday and got the message saying they weren't able to approve my app. Called the spanish line this morning and the rep said that it was just a system error that automatically declined my app, and that she would go ahead and approve me.

For what its worth, I've opened about 9 cards since April and this is the first time I've had success with a recon line (rejects from Citi, Chase, and Barclays).

Spanish line worked for me yesterday. After I asked, "Habla Ingles?", the CSR replied, "Why, certainly. For some reason you came through on the Spanish line."

Well, I am happy to hear that the Spanish # is still working for everyone, sounds like a lot of people benefited from it. Mrs. PedroNY and I certainly using it plenty!

Best,

PedroNY

The only number that worked for me was the Spanish number - thanks for posting that!

Got approved after I was put on hold for about a minute. The rep came back and told me it was approved; she didn't even ask me any more questions.

Called the Spanish number today & I was able to get reconsideration. The person I spoke to seemed eager to reverse the decision. Low credit limit due to short credit history, but better than a hard inquiry for nothing.
