We will leave this thread open for questions from existing cardholders who applied using offers with the perpetual annual 10k bonus. Otherwise, please post on the ongoing thread on standard offers:
Current Offers: USAirways cards with no annual mileage bonus

Current Links:
30k + 10k anniversary + no annual fee for the first year (now says "Offer expired"); terms and conditions include offer specifics
[NOTE: Barclays is erratically enforcing the restriction "for Preferred members only," especially for those who leave off a membership number on the application. See recent experiences reported in the thread.]

There is a separate thread for a 40k+10k offer with $89 annual fee, no anniversary bonus: USAirways CC special Offer 40K + 10K BT Bonus; AF not waived

Expired Links:
30k at signup, 10k anniversary bonus, 10k with balance transfer, no fee first year - Landing Page (Ended 4/30/14)

Newer 35K Link (click on terms and conditions to see 35K bonus after first purchase, first year fee waived, and 10K anniversary bonus)

1) I applied for this card but got the message
We apologize for the inconvenience, but our website is experiencing technical issues.
Please contact us at 1-866-419-6437 or try again later.
What does this mean? What should I do?

Check your application status by visiting http://www.myapplicationstatus.com/

At Barclays, if you already have an online account, the card can also show up there before you get a notification from them. Obviously, that won't work if you don't yet have an online Barclays account from another card. But if it's not your first US card, you presumably do have an online account already.

2) What's the reconsideration line number?

866-408-4064. Only open M>F, 8am>5pm, Eastern.

3) How long after my first purchase does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?

Miles for the first-purchase bonus post with the statement showing the initial purchase.

4) For those people who got the targeted offer, how long after spending $750 in each of the 3 months does it take for the bonus miles to post in my account?

Miles posts two months after the end of the promotion period. For example, if your promo was to spend in June, July and August, the 15k bonus would post with October statement.

5) How can I get the anniversary 10K bonus points without paying the annual fee?

The annual bonus posts on the statement date of the month of anniversary. No need to "kick out" a statement. But if you are worried, you can put a few bucks on the card during that cycle thus generate a statement but it is NOT necessary.

AF is billed the last business day of the month of the anniversary (much better than Chase practice which is on the 1st day of the month). You have 60 days to cancel the card for the AF to be reversed. You also can use SM to cancel card and no need to call.

Note: I called to cancel the card (June, 2014), told them it was because the AF was too high, and they waived it. Still got the 10,000 points and the Companion Certs!!

It's not a hard rule, but 6 months seems to be what works. I waited roughly 13 months for both my wife and I and we were both instantly approved for cards #2 while we both had cards #1 open.

I feel like Barclays has locked me out of this card. First got it in Sept 2011 and closed it a year later. Have the NFL card (great signup bonus but pretty useless) and Lufthansa card (same).

Barclays just won't give me a US Airways card because they "want me to build a relationship with them." Okay fine, I asked them if I could open up a Barclay Arrivals card under my name (currently use one under a family member's name as an AU) and they said no. Seriously?! I actually would use the Arrivals card on a daily basis (I already do) ...

I even asked to just have the US card in exchange for the other cards with no bonus miles and annual fee paid up-front (for the $25K spend threshold) and they said "no."

after many unsuccessful attempts at getting card #2, i applied for the 30k+10kanniversary+no AF card on a lark today (with card #1 open for just shy of a year now with occasional use) and FINALLY! autoapproved

and for the record, no status with us whatsoever

Barclay will not give in. I applied for the 40k card and did not include my US airways dividend card. They insist the card is only for US Airways premium flyers... The managers say there's nothing they can do.

Do not apply without including your number!

Interesting. I'm just assuming the US cards will go completely kaput eventually here in the near future due to the merger, and would like to pick up as many "free" US air cards before that as possible. Somehow I need to balance waiting long enough to be approved for my 2nd US air card with getting it before it's no longer an option.

Fee waived, US Airways Card, 30K + 10k @ anniversary (WIKI)

So the landing page for the 30k + 10k anniversary bonus says must be silver preferred. Is that the lowest level status upon signing up?

It has been confirmed that Barclay's will service US Air cards up until the rewards programs are finally combined in early 2015. Of course, this is no guarantee that the cards go away before that. I have a feeling signup bonuses will increase as Barclay's tries to increase their US Air cardholders.

Interesting. Have there historically been larger US air offers?

No, but Barclay's has signaled that they're going to be more aggressive at increasing their card membership, and the best way to do that is with higher signup bonuses.

Not sure what you are asking. Are you asking if upon becoming a US Airways member (or upon getting the card) you are given, as a benefit, silver preferred status as a beginning-level status in that miles program?

The 30K + 10K link states that silver preferred status is a prerequisite for that card. Wondering whether that is a real earned status or given as an entry level upon signing up for dividend miles (not the credit card) program. Thanks.

The page you're looking for is: http://www.usairways.com/en-US/divid...toqualify.html

But the short answer is no. When you sign up you have no status at all.

Quick datapoint: spouse who is non-elite applied using top (30k fee waived) link, put her US Airways # in, got approved instantly. She's relatively light on inquiries and open accounts.

A question that might be better directed elsewhere - does the free FICO score indicate one specific agency? I can't seem to find an indication and have previously (other sources) only seen scores reported individually for EX, EQ and TU.

I believe the score Barclaycard shows you is from TU.
