50,000 after $3,000 spend:

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

Does this feature still exist for airline ticket purchases? It was there in the past for all travel purchases, but they updated the site a few months back to remove it for other than airline tickets. I don't have any current airline tickets that I can redeem points for a credit so wasn't sure if this still exists.

Yes it does. I went onto my online account last week looking at this specific thing.

Note that this is the Canadian version, not sure if there is a difference with the US.

Capital one venture 50K mile offer

I got a personalized mail offer for 50000 miles and double miles per dollar. Anyone know if this is a good deal? The annual fee of $59 was not waived though. The miles can be redeemed for any travel purchase without blackout dates..

[Targeted] CapOne Venture 50,000 points offer - Worth it?

I have no experience with CapitolOne or Venture for that matter and I was curious what everyone's thoughts are on this offer. From my research on recent threads it seems like 50k bonus offer is pretty high.

It is 3k spend in 3 months for 50k points. I am due for another round of apps soon as I am finishing up my SW cards in Jan. Anyone have any experience?

This was sent via mail, just got it today. Most online links show 20k bonus points for sign-up so it actually sounds like a good deal. I just don't know what Venture points are actually worth.

It really all depends on how you spend money and how you want to use your points. A very good rundown on credit card signup bonuses is at Gary Leff's View from the Wing Blog. He just posted an updated version today, plus you can search his previous posts for additional information:
http://boardingarea.com/viewfromthewing/

Venture is good for cash back on travel related purchases, but it may not be the best in that category (I do have one). If you want points for travel, then you might want to consider something else - there are some very good offers on other cards - but it depends on who you fly.

Thanks for the info I will give his blog a read. To answer your other points I generally use all of my points for either Hilton hotel or for US Air flights. Have a trip to Denver and a trip to Las Vegas scheduled for next year so that is my focus now. I already used CSP last year for a NOLA trip so I doubt I can grab that card again any time soon as I had it downgraded. I also have had the US Air card twice and currently also have the Hilton AmEx.

Venture points are worth $.01 for travel related expenses. You can apply for a credit after you have made a purchase on the card or use their service to purchase travel using points. The fee based venture earns 2x each dollar - not sure what your offer is. so, if you have a $400 airfare that you want to get credit for, then you have to spend $20,000 to get there (ignoring the sign up bonus). essentially, they are giving you a $500 travel credit as a sign up bonus.

Capital One venture 50k

https://application.capitalone.com/i..._5V_3X2B4_BAN2

Normal bonus is 20k so this seems like a good deal. It won't replace Arrival for me for daily spend, but I'll certainly take the bonus. Link is from a banner ad right here at FT, and the small print says this bonus only comes from signing up via the ad. My next AOR isn't for a week, so hopefully it lasts.

Thanks for the link. Applied and got instant approval.
I already have an old venture card from back when they had the 100k match promotion, which I have downgraded to a bronze card to avoid the annual fee. I didn't see anything in the T&C that said current members weren't eligible or that it is only for new cardholders, so hopefully I should still get the 50k bonus this time.

Denial

Thanks for the link. I just applied with it and was not approved. However, I did have quite a few hard pulls as I finished my latest round of apps and I wasn't surprised. A chat window popped up during applying and once after the status of my app was displayed. I took a shot with the chat support and no luck in getting them to reconsider me. I just got the usual "You will get the details in your mail and yada...."
