50,000 after $3,000 spend:

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

i applied too late for 75 but i was approved for the venture 50K so at least thats something considering my credit history . i guess i'm excellent!.

i guess would be silly not to get free global now wouldnt it?

so if i can do 3000 sooner than the 3 months do they give me the 500 sooner? how long after i get 3000 do they put it in?

What Capital One is seeing are applicants who are opening accounts (too many new revolving accounts), but not using them ongoing (no revolving accounts have a balance). This indicates churning, and they aren't interested in awarding new account bonuses for card that will not be used after the bonus is earned. It doesn't matter to them if their algorithm is correct in your case, each of us is nothing other than an instance of a type.
Thanks. It's still quite interesting that Capital One is more strict than the infamous 5/24 rule from Chase.

I got denied, but one of my family members got approved few days after applying, we plan to just add authorized users (me and my spouse) to my family member's card account. I think with 2x point / dollar, this is a good card to be used by all of us on everyday spend for merchants who don't take AmEx. Now the question is, can the point transfer to airline program be transferred to authorized user's frequent flyer account?

DP: card is still churnable, and mailer codes are transferrable.

2017-06-01 - applied for 50K/$3K/3mo public offer, approved on recon
2018-07-11 - closed account
2018-12-19 - applied using 60K/$3K/3mo mailer code (targeted at my SO), instant online approval for $30K

No other CapOne credit accounts in my churn history, though I did churn their checking & savings accounts (opened 2017-07-12, closed 2018-11-02)

I am at 6/6mo and 22/24mo new accounts overall, with 20-30 inquiries depending on bureau.

How long is it taking for anyone to get their card?
I got approved on Nov 30 and still haven't gotten card.
I got an email it would get to me by Dec 10th.
Everytime I call they give me a different answer.
Wasn't mailed, was mailed and arrived on 10th but no tracking, we left your address off etc.
Terrible customer service.
Regret applying.

How do y'all do redeeming points? Thinking about doing the 200k (for $50k spend) Spark Miles card. Do I understand this right, if I spend $50,000, I'll earn 2 x 50k = 100k points. Then I would also get the 200k point bonus. So this signup would net me 300k Capital one points? I understand I can transfer 2:1.5 to a bunch of airline miles, netting me 225,000 airline points for $50k spend. What's not clear is just redeeming points to pay down a travel bill. Is it $.01 or $.02 per point.

My go to is the United Club card. Because my home airport is very expensive (Jackson, WY), I average about $.03/point redemption in economy on UA. Club card gives me 1.5X/1$, so I essentially average $.045 per back per dollar spent. I'm sitting on 500k UA miles, but my head is telling me I'm giving up 75k UA miles by doing the Spark card.

Approved 12/19, card arrived 12/31. Not bad considering the holidays.

Statement credits are $0.01 per point.

300K transferrable points for $50K spend over the course of a year is pretty great for a single app. For comparison, even if you churned other personal cards as hard as possible you'd still be well under a million, with 10X the overhead and credit damage.

I recently redeemed nearly 300k points, the last of nearly 650k points I had been accumulating since 2011. Unlike Barclay's Arrival+ credit card, a Capital One charge can be redeemed multiple times as long is active (90 days) . With other credit cards, a travel charge goes away after choosing to redeem points against it. In the past, travel items I had charge to my card but subsequently canceled, would be available for redemption for 90 days.I remember using a cancelled hotel booking to partially redeem against a sizeable charge I had made at Toys R Us for Christmas. I used my points a lot to partially offset the total cost of airfare for a family of 4 when award tickets were hard to come by.

The 300k for $50k spend is a great deal if you can do the spend. I wish I could, but my max expenses only amount to around $6K per month. I was accumulating about 50k points a year at one point. These were my favorite points to use. Now I only have less a 1000 and will take a while now to fatten it again.

Anyone know where I can find what constitutes spend? If I pay someone on paypal with the Venture card does it count towards spend?
With no way to pm Capital One haven't found away to find online what constitutes spend and also what the exceptions are.

Mia is a super mega-guru of FT. I was going to suggest the same thing, but I hadn't come back to this thread in some time and she beat me to it (not the first time). I pay off all my balances every month and was auto-approved for the Venture. Seems Cap One has put rules in place to reduce their potential exposure to churners, not to reduce their exposure to those with responsible credit.I do have a number of cards, but I'd say I'm probably at around 10? Definitely nowhere near what others have. I also happen to have an auto-payment of various minor recurring bills on about half of them more by chance than design (either because of bonus points or else just too lazy to change them). All my cards are autopaid in full every month.

The answer is "yes".
Instant approval for $30K credit line. 826 FICO, $100K+ income, never carry a balance, have only applied for one other card in the last three years.
