50,000 after $3,000 spend:

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

The rep I spoke to said that they're currently going through a system upgrade to migrate everyone to chip + signature cards and that they are unable to provide any offers due to that upgrade. He said that if I call back when the upgrade is complete in late January they may be able to offset the fee at that time, but that's after my fee posts so he couldn't promise anything. I asked him if I could downgrade to the no-fee VentureOne card and he said they also cannot process any product changes during their system upgrade, so it would not be possible to downgrade to a different card.

Those answers seemed a little suspicious to me so I'll probably try giving them another call tomorrow to see if I can find a more helpful rep. Also the rep I spoke to said my annual fee will post on January 13. I applied for the card on January 14, so it looks like the fee posts one day before the anniversary of your application date.

Said can't look up any more offers due to the upgrade but am happy with the fee waived.

One more year keeping this card, will end up having the same convo next year.
I've had the fee waived every year since 2011. No need to threaten them, just say you're considering canceling the card because of the annual fee. Every time they offer a "one-time only" refund.

Can anyone confirm this is actually true? I didn't see anything in the T&C to this effect and no references to this anywhere online except this one guy with one post. I think he got this card mixed up with Arrival+.

Did you ask to waive the fee before or after the fee was posted?

This card is a joke haha. I just got my first cc denial ever after 25 or so cards!

I have 800+ FICO and only 1 new account in the past few months only 3-4 in the past year I think and I put down 120k of income!

• Based on your credit report from Equifax, too few or no revolving accounts have a balance
• Based on your credit report from Trans Union, there are too many new revolving accounts
• Based on your application information, income is insufficient for requested credit

I have no idea what they're looking for...maybe as others have said my credit was too good..

I think what they are looking for is people who use the card a great deal AND are capable of paying it off. While they certainly like making the interest, they love the user who has tons of transactions each month and is no credit risk.

What credit line did you request

The above was the standard BS response that C1 sends to everyone now. CC applications do not have a credit line option.

Any previous relationship? or first CapOne card?
I'm planning to apply for this and am scared now. But I've had a CapOne card for 5 years.

Yep, its true. I just booked two Egyptair flights separately, thinking that I wouldn't be able to partially redeem with my Capital One points. But lo and behold, I was able to partially offset the cost of the second flight with points using Purchase Eraser.

According to my records, my anniversary date is January 3rd, but so far no annual fee posted. My statement closes in a couple days, it will probably be on there.

Any further updates on the "system upgrade"?

So the fee posted on my statement yesterday. I tried to call in to get them to waive the fee today, but no luck. They did say I have 30 days to cancel and get the fee refunded. I guess I will try again next week.
