50,000 after $3,000 spend:

Capital One usually does a hard pull with all three credit bureaus.
If you have a security freeze on your report, they generally will not allow you to submit a code for this report to be viewable.

If you've held this card before, it looks like you can get this bonus again. Data points: 1, 2. YMMV

Got an email and was declined for too many revolving accounts. I've been busy until the last 2 years.

I've a Capital One Venture card and the annual fee hit.. It seems like I have 45 days from my last statement closing to see if I can get a refund. I also have some transferrable rewards there that I don't want to move to a travel partner yet.

If I downgrade to the no fee VentureOne, I presume the rewards will remain and I can still transfer them ? And I would get a refund of the fee (I still have 2-3 days to the 45 day deadline) ?

Can I apply for the Venture One even if I hold the Venture ? Assuming I get approved, I can transfer the rewards to the VentureOne and then cancel the Venture ?

I don't know if Capital One is like Amex where you see all Membership rewards in one pool or whether it's like Chase where you have to explicitly transfer Ultimate Rewards between cards. If the latter, could there be a timing issue if VentureOne takes some time to approve, but CRM doesn't allow me to downgrade the Venture because the application is pending ?

Thanks for any comments.

Spark and Venture points are interchangable and you can transfer the points between any card on the Spark or Venture card online and pool them together.

Another "killer feature" people may not know but is about to blow your mind, is you can actually transfer your points to ANY Capital One account free of charge,. Not even Chase is that permissive, requesting it be your spouse or biz partner if moving your points to another account.

My guess is this only exists because Capital One's option to transfer to airline partners is relatively new coming on the scene in 2018. People who sell resell award tickets are going to abuse this to no-end, and cap one will backtrack, but for now its wide open.

Regarding your question about whether you'll be eligible for the reward if you have a regular venture best to call first and check the language of the promotion.

Thanks ! As it happened, Capital One agreed to waive my fee for the Venture, so I'm keeping it for another year at least.

Later on, if they won't waive the fee you can product change to the VentureOne (the no fee version). Did that on my SO's card and now we get upgrade offers back to the Venture that we'll take advantage of one of these days.

Any recent DP's on Cap One Venture's Global Entry Fee Reimbursement?

We had to pay $25 for a new GE card due to a name change, used the CapOne Venture in an effort that the charge from USCBP would trigger the credit.... but at day 5 after the transaction posted, no credit yet.

I see on the main card application page:
"To receive a statement credit, you must use your Venture card to either complete the Global Entry application and pay the $100 application fee, or complete the TSA Pre✓® application and pay the $85 application fee. Credit will appear within two billing cycles, and will apply to whichever program is applied for first. One statement credit per account every four years, and your account must be open and in good standing when the credit is applied. Fees charged to a VentureOne card are not eligible. Refer to the Application or Account Terms for additional details."

I will wait patiently to see what comes of it over the next few weeks. The wording of the T&C's is a little disconcerting that it is ONLY for the application fee's and no other ancillary fees related to GE/PreCheck. Wondering if others have had relevant experience with this sort of deal.

We have other cards that we have used to cover (and will continue to use to cover) the main application fee.

Similar situation - lost my wallet so had to order a replacement GE card. No reimbursement for the $25 - they only pay the $100 fee, once every 5 years.

Does Cap1 allow product change from Venture or other cards into their cobranded Walmart MasterCard? Does anyone have any DPs?

In the wiki, it says, "Hotels.com Gift Card (classified as BUSINESS SERVICES NOT ELSEWHERE CLASSIFIED)." are covered. Does that mean I can buy a $100 Hotels.com gc and reimburse myself for the charge 20x+ times?

Can you reimburse regular dine-in purchases on the Venture Rewards card? I see "From now until April 30, 2021, you can redeem your miles for eligible restaurant delivery, takeout and streaming service purchases. Simply make a purchase, then use your miles to cover the cost within 90 days."

But how can they tell if you get takeout vs actually dining in?

Thanks

Is capital one MS friendly, trying to decide if I should apply for venture as all the $20k bonus spend would be MS.

Haha. Got denied for the first time in many many manyyyy years today with the 100k offer for the Venture card.

Refinanced my house and bought a new car in the last three months so lots of mortgage and a few auto inquires and only 2 CC inquires also this month.

FICO is over 800, over $250k in credit lines with less than $1k balances, with multiple $30k CL cards.

denied for too many inquiries. Hilarious!

$95 AF just posted for the Venture card. Phone rep said they cannot waive AF, even if I downgrade to a no-AF card.
Can anyone confirm if AF will be refunded if I cancel instead?
I will need to liquidate ~60k miles before cancelling... Anyone know if AirBnB GCs are 'eligible travel expenses' for capital one statement credit?

My annual fee hit as well. I tried to get it waived, but no dice (it was waived last year). Hard to justify keeping the card, and I am trying to simplify my card collection anyway. No FTF and global entry reimbursement are good, but Apple Card and Citi Double Cash kind of made this card a bit redundant. I will apply again down the road for another SUB maybe...

I see a lot of blogs from TPG and others about the Cap1 Venture card. How is it better than Citi DC card? Both cards are essentially 2x point cards. Venture may have more transfer partners. But it has $95 annual fee and DC is free card. Venture does not have all 1:1 transfers to partners. I do not need TSA or Global Entry. I know the new card bonus is nice.

What else am I missing?
