Credit Pulls
I am a little heavy on inquiries on my experian file since most cards seem to be pulling that one. What credit card programs have you applied for recently that used either transunion or equifax only?
|
Most issuers use a mix of all three. It often depends on where in the country you are located since each bureau has geographic areas of greater strength. So, for example, Citi might use Experian in the northeast, Equifax in Texas, and Transunion everywhere else (just an example, not actual data!). Therefore, it will be hard for someone to identify an issuer that will definitely use one bureau over an other

very hard to predicted
My son lives 3 miles from me,we both applied for the same citi card and received different pulls.I have used creditboards, however use it only as a guide. The only issuer that seems consistent is Barclays, they use transunion. Most people that have done any churring will have many pulls on Experian and Equifax. If you have a chance to compare you credit pulls with anyone in your community you should see they are all switching constantly. This was not true 12 months ago.If you apply for a lot of cards it would be great to spread these pulls out over all three. I can't find any method to predict where a pull will hit.

Their are two other threads discussing this same subject.
Credit cards, Credit Bureaus Freezing Experian report People are claming that many use Experian and others are claiming they almost all use Equifax. My credit report shows 8 Equifax pulls and my son's had 8 Experian pulls. We applied for the same credit cards and live a few miles apart. |
