Should I avoid using a Chase CC to pay a Chase Loan via chargesmart?

Rent payment via CC... with a fee. Best point card to use?

Here's an interesting dilemma: my landlord is about to offer rent payment via credit card, but the system will charge a $38 per transaction fee for paying with a CC instead of a check or bank deposit. Rent is just shy of $2500, so that works out to about 1.5 cents per point/mile or $380 for 25K points/miles over 10 months.

I can definitely get $380 of value out of 25K SPG points, but the new system is Visa/Mastercard only. I have the Priority Club Visa (for the free night, basically), but I don't think 25K PC points will get me $380 in value. So if I want to do this, I need a new non-Amex with higher per-dollar return.

Thoughts/similar situations?

Vanillas and Bluebird. $3.95 * 5($500 per VR)= under $20 plus lots of points of your choice. Use for minimum spends.

None of the CVSs near me sell VR anymore. Any other way to pay rent?

Could you pay for multiple months at once with that same single transaction fee?

Second the multiple months idea. My rent is much lower, the transaction fee is $19.95, but I can pay up to $3000 per payment, so that's what I pay. 3000 points are always going to be worth at least $30, and of course I squeeze more value out than that.

What state do you live in? In some states they cannot charge a fee to use a credit card, despite new credit card laws.

advice 4 paying mortgage with credit card

hey y'all. my biggest monthly expense is my mortgage payment. I'd like to pay it via credit card to help rack up the miles, but my lending bank doesn't take credit card payments. does anyone know any creative ways around this? the payment is $1500. oodles of thanks!

You have to get Bluebird account. Then, reload the account with Vanilla reload cards by purchasing them by your credit card from CVS.

ckprivette's question has been appended to the established thread. Bluebird is one approach, but there are others.

ok, so, after reading much, here's my plan. Tell me what's wrong with it, please. I'm going to open a bluebird account. After i have my bb card I'll buy $1500 worth of vanilla reloads each month with my miles-earning CC, and transfer this "vanilla money" from vanilla to bluebird. then I will authorize bluebird to send a check for $1500 to my mortgage holder each month. Yes??
