Interestingly, this means that only four countries that are 100% back to normal will be Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein* - the four countries that make EFTA. (EDIT: Never mind, Hungary is also fully back to normal with no masks. I somehow missed that development.)

* Liechtenstein tends to follow whatever the Swiss rules are, so I presume they will also drop the last mask mandates on 1st of April.

Now if only there was some way to travel mask-free to Switzerland Being a part of Latehansa group, I don't see Swiss removing the mask mandate soon.

Romania dropped all restrictions as of 9 March: https://www.romania-insider.com/roma...trictions-2022
Still need to fill out a passenger locator form while entering the country until they change that law.

Gibraltar will be dropping all covid entry restrictions from the 18th of March https://www.visitgibraltar.gi/covid-19

This development will also open up the western Costa del sol to unvaccinated passengers as there are no Covid checks coming into Spain via Gibraltar.

There goes the UK

https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-...-week-12566228

I suspected Gibraltar dropping their restrictions on the 18th would probably coincide with the rumoured UK announcement, turns out that’s exactly what’s happened.

The EU hopefully will join them within the month and the US before summer.

France has removed most of internal restrictions today. No more vaccinal pass needed (except to access hospitals & retirement houses). Mask is only required in public transportations and flights.
Vaccination (including booster) is still required to enter France from some non-EU countries (Orange countries). Test is not required for vaccinated pax for one month already whatever the country of provenance. Non-vaccinated pax can enter France with a PCR test (<72 hrs) or rapid test (<48hrs) if coming from Green countries (which include EU).

Starting tomorrow, masks will no longer be required on BA flights between mask-free countries. In Europe, this should mean flights between London and Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Hungary or Switzerland.

Meanwhile, "Two weeks after the United Kingdom dropped its last remaining Covid-19 mitigation measure -- a requirement that people who test positive for the virus isolate for five days -- the country is seeing cases and hospitalizations climb once again. Covid-19 cases were up 48% in the UK last week compared with the week before. Hospitalizations were up 17% over the same period."

And...? This is a thread about reopenings and business-as-usual travel, not about hospitals.

From 23 March the Netherlands will also abolish all Covid related rules including travel restrictions. No masks rules, only recommended at busy places.

https://nos.nl/artikel/2421273-kabinet-schaft-verplichte-coronaregels-af-meeste-adviezen-blijven

Edit: travel restrictions from outside the EU will stay, only safe countries or vaccinated/recovered passengers will have access.

Rijksoverheid website has it confirmed, though the rules on non-eu citizens have not updated yet.

Edit:

Confirmed test won't be needed anymore. But you will still need proof of vaccination (or recent covid infection, can be confirmed by old PCR or antigen test) if a non-eu citizen.

No more testing/anything for EU citizens traveling back from out of EU anymore though :-). Just assuming this will also be for Non-EU citizens, who still need a vaccination proof it seems.

So for someone coming in from the UK to NL, there will not be a need for a test as long as you are vaccinated?

Correct!

https://www.government.nl/topics/cor...virus-measures
As of 23 March, travellers to the Netherlands coming from within the EU or the Schengen area will no longer require a test, proof of recovery or proof of vaccination. The rules will also be lifted for nationals of EU countries travelling to the Netherlands from countries outside the EU and the Schengen area. Everyone travelling to the Netherlands is advised to do a self-test immediately after arrival and again on day 5. Non-EU nationals remain subject to an EU entry ban. Exemptions apply in several cases, however, such as for people travelling from ‘safe’ countries, people who are vaccinated or who have recovered from coronavirus, and people travelling for certain purposes.

In the Dutch version its more clear and specifically says no more test needed:

Transavia NL and Tui NL will remove their mask mandates too after 23 March. KLM still have to react - weirdly masks will still be required after security in Dutch airports.

Mandates falling like house of cards.
