Covid test Madrid

I have a MR JFK-MEX-MAD with a return on Jan 13th. I cannot get the Madrid airport testing site to open. Has anyone recently flown fro Madrid back to the USA and gotten tested at the Madrid airport?

There was a post on the Trip Advisor forums stating the company that runs tests at several Spanish airports including Madrid and Malaga (I forget the others) was ceasing operations as of 12/31. When the website was still up you could only book appointments through 12/31. It seems odd that a testing company would cease operations in the middle of the largest COVID surge in Spain but what do I know. Anyway I'd probably look for some in-city option. There seem to be plenty of options. I am scheduled to fly to Spain in the first half of February so been monitoring the testing situation (though still not sure I am going at this point).

Covid testing in Madrid

Thanks for the response. I had looked at the airport testing website about a month ago & just assumed that was where I should get my Covid test before returning to the USA. Not so now. I’ll start looking for other testing sites in the city and post something here.

If you can get it in time, I'd just order some Emed kits and do a remote test.

Solid advice if you have a direct flight back to the US and you know the airline you are flying is good with them. I am transiting Lisbon and the acceptance of Emed/BinaxNow by TAP is hit or miss based on what data points I can find.

I second this recommendation. I used them when I flew back from MAD to LAX in late October.

The location has a check in kiosk with an English option and I got my results emailed to me in 30 minutes. The staff there will also print out a copy of your results.

It looks like the test at a number of Spanish airports is back. The website is still a little wonky: https://flycovidtestcenter.com/ .

I tested at MAD on Mon 03JAN22 but like others mentioned couldn’t get any of the web sites to load. Location between T2 and T3 is still the same and there was no line when I went around 1700. The walk in price for an Antigen test was up to 50€ though when I believe it was between 20-30 when I was tested there in the fall.

Seeing your routing is via MEX so guessing you’re flying AM. Last time I checked they were not allowing the eMed / video tests and it had to be an in person test. There are some threads about it I think in the other North American Airlines forum.

I was able to book the test in T2. Quick and easy, which was good as I was on a MR JFK-MAD with AM. Cost 30 euros; walk up is 50 euros.

Is this 30/50 Euros rapid antigen test suitable for travel to the USA? Is it carried out by a professional etc, not just a self test?
