CHECK THIS LINK FOR YOUR LOT NUMBER ON YOUR BinaxNOW Covid Tests for the extended expiration date:
  • Lot 195-200: https://www.emed.com/hubfs/Case%2001269955-COL-03030%20BinaxNOW%E2%84%A2%20COVID-19%20Ag%20Home%20Test%20%20Product%20Expiry%20Upda te%20-%20Customer%20Letter%20EN%20%20-%20%20US.pdf?hsLang=en
  • Lot 195-200 and 195-100: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/static/binax-now/scrtechs-0381-v8-binaxnow-covid-19-ag-home-test-product.pdf
  • Lot 195-000: https://www.healthvermont.gov/sites/default/files/documents/pdf/COVID-19-BinaxNOW-Expiry-Extension.pdf

Previously, it was on https://ohio.emed.com/ but the link has been removed.

The good news is that as of mid-Dec 2021, Abbott Labs is apparently shipping only kits with printed expiration dates well into 2022.

Recently used kits ordered from Optum Store for testing prior to a cruise trip. One kit had no test card inside. I was glad I had brought an extra kit with me. The proctor allowed us to open the extra kit, and proceed with testing. I'm just glad it was only the one kit missing a card, and not more. I will contact Optum today to see about getting a refund for the problem kit.

Has anyone tried submitting reimbursement to their insurance for these under the new regulation?

These are doctor prescribed (if you look on your account you'll see the doctor's prescription under your orders), so they have always been reimbursable, even before these new regulations which cover over-the-counter tests.

I submitted for reimbursement prior to the new regs and it was accepted. I think they deducted the shipping though.

Apologies if this has already been answered upthread, but just wanted to double check. I’m planning on ordering more of these tests and will likely have some extra - can I pass these off to friends to use for travel? Someone earlier had mentioned that these are doctor prescribed though so wondering if that means others can’t use them. Thanks in advance!

I'm a little confused about the expiry date for these tests. When I bought some in December there was a note in the box that basically said the expiry date has been extended from 9 months to 12 months, so to add 3 months the date on the box. Now, I think I also heard in January that they have been extended to 15 months, is this correct? So I should add 6 months to the date on the box?

I guess my question is, if the box expiry date says 11/13/2021 (with manufacture date 2021/03/12), when do I have to use it by? My hope is that it was extended once to 12 months, so 2/13/2022 and then extended again to 15 months, so 5/13/22.

Has anyone ordered the emed tests recently? What is the leadtime? Their site does not say anything about that, and I know they have been slow to deliver in the past.

They still say that if your rder is received and approved by 6pm on a weekday it will ship the same day.
