Cases in Greece are dropping, but from substantially high levels...There are still no direct flights from the US, so I would consider the number of Americans visiting in the last couple of weeks probably negligible with no effects on the infections...I saw one day they announced 50 new infections from travelers from abroad, but that's a drop in the bucket and likely include land boarders...

But Iceland's in a much better spot with Covid-19 now than it was at this time last year, so they will almost certainly stick with their opening to vaccinated visitors.

Correlation is not causation, so it could be that an inclination to opening up to visitors is a sign of things that were already in play.
That's not true. Their cases started spiking before Americans were allowed in because of a tourist who broke quarantine. And he was from a European country. This is why they now have mandatory hotel quarantine for most tourists, except for those who are fully vaccinated. And Iceland was always open for visitors from people from Europe. But I'm not going to argue about this.

I closely reviewed Iceland's numbers before I posted. Here is a convenient chart for the country's daily cases:

Iceland had two openings to vaccinated Americans this year. As I indicated earlier, correlation is not the same thing as causation when it comes to developments on the infection scene in Iceland.

The official projection for Greece is that it will make the ECDC green list, at least for some of the country, around June 10.

It was a statement by a Greek tourism or other government official, in Greek news...

Does anyone know what the 7 day case rate per 100,000 is for Madeira?

Ive calculated it manually but its coming out as over 50 - which seems too high for it to make the green list. Could it become amber soon or have I messed up my calculations?

Looks like COVID-19 is still raging way more across Sweden than in all its neighbors and even most of the Schengen area beyond its own neighborhood. That is even with some decline in daily cases during more recent days.

The Daily Mail reports that its in 48 countries, and the strain has already been recorded in 16 EU countries, including Ireland (59), Belgium (52), Italy (48), Spain (29) and France (28).

So not as many cases as us but its already present so by not letting the UK in wouldn't particularly help.

France imposes restrictions on visitors from the UK starting Monday 31 May.

France has become the latest European country to introduce restrictions on UK tourists due to the spread of the Indian coronavirus variant.

The French government announced that from 31 May, anyone arriving from the UK must quarantine for seven days.

Germany imposed a two-week quarantine on UK arrivals last week. Austria has banned direct UK flights from 1 June.
