US Airports Accessible to 2-year-olds by plane
 

With all US airlines effectively banning two-year-olds (no it is not possible to keep a mask on a 2-year-old for the entire flight), they are prohibited from traveling domestically. So I am wondering if there is a workaround by flying to another country on a foreign airline and back to another US city (e.g. some European airlines have a much more reasonable age-limit for masks, like 11-12 yers). Of course, there are also entry restrictions that need to be considered. Let's say that our 2-year-old has a US passport only. Between which pairs of US airports can this toddler fly? This should be a fun exercise to figure out as it combines reduced schedules, exact mask rules, and entry restriction - the trifecta of COVID-19 travel obstacles. Any solutions?

Foreign airlines are not allowed to transport a passenger between two US cities so you would need to purchase separate tickets on different airlines.
Even then, some airlines would refuse to carry a passenger (see https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trav...-cabotage.html).
Not worth the hassle in my opinion.

The whole thing is a false predicate.

Just ask the families with a child who has a compromised immune system whether it is possible to keep a mask on a 2+ YOA.

Is there a requirement to have a mast for 2 y/o? WHO specifically said that small kids should not wear masks.

What other countries did you have in mind? Not sure how two long haul flights with a toddler are any easier than keeping a mask on.

UK would be an obvious choice as it allows Americans to enter (quarantine required, but you can leave the country anytime). As other mentioned, the whole journey can't be issued on one ticket, which is why you can't use airports where only transit is permitted.

:D. With enough entertainment and engagement while awake and a sleepy toddler able to sleep on flights, long haul flights may not be all that tough.

Just keep the toddler’s bottle and snacks in hand or on the tray with the toddler’s mask on the neck during the trip, and then chances are the trip will go just about the same as it would if these were not Covid19 times. A two-years-old child can be trained to put on at least laceless shoes, and a mask would just be sort of like that. Of course this is being said by someone who sees kids’s random shoes and socks along the roadside and sidewalks where toddlers and even some slightly older kids have been.
