Impacts on airlines and services [Consolidated thread]

Thread to keep track of airlines' adjustment to their schedules as a result of the Wuhan coronavirus outbreak. Will update as I hear of new adjustments.

Let's separate long-term capacity reduction, temporary full suspensions, and temporary capacity reduction:

Long-term capacity reduction

- JetStar Asia cuts Hefei, Xuzhou, Guiyang, and Hong Kong.

Temporary full suspensions

- UA cuts all flights to the mainland until end of March, HKG still served
- AA cuts all flights to the mainland until end of March, HKG still served
- DL cuts all flights to the mainland until end of April, never had service to HKG
- BA suspends all mainland China flights for Feb (LHR-PVG and LHR-PEK)
- Lufthansa group (LH, LX, OS) cuts all flights to mainland China until ?
- Air Canada cuts PEK and PVG- LionAir cuts all flights to mainland China
- KL: Chengdu, Hangzhou and Xiamen flights suspended, others reduced (until Feb 29)
- AF's WUH also cut
- Air Astana cuts all China routes until Oct
- Vietnam Airways cuts mainland China in all Feb
- Air Busan - ditto
- Air Seoul - cuts Dayong / Linyi for Feb/Mar
- Eastar Jet - China cut for Feb
- Busan Air - Feb/March cuts
- Jin Air - XIY route cut Feb/Mar
- BR (EVA) most China routes cut until Feb 16
- IB cuts PVG
- Royal Air Maroc - cuts Beijing

- AA suspends all LAX-mainland flights until end of March. ex-DFW flights remain on the schedule, as does LAX-HKG (good, I'm booked on it in a couple weeks)
- VS (Virgin Atlantic) cuts all China flights including HKG until end of Feb. Edit: they changed their mind, only cutting PEK.

Temporary capacity reduction

- AY (Finnair) reduces capacity
- IndiGo reduces capacity
- Jetstar Asia reduces capacity
- Delta reduces capacity: halving flights between the US and China from 42 to 21 (weekly?), between February 6 and April 30.
- KL/AF reduce capacity until Feb 29. PVG and PEK down to 1x daily
- CX reduces capacity by half at request of HK govt
- Asiana - cuts CSX (Changsha), Guilin, Haikou
- KE cuts WUH and Jinan until end of March
- UA drops 24/96 flights to China over Feb 1-8, across all destinations (PEK, PVG, HKG… do they still fly to CTU?)

Why are you opening a new thread on this topic?

At Travel Buzz the topic is already discussed - since more than 3 days:

That thread seems to be about predictions of what will happen over the next quarter...

My prediction on route cuts:
...whereas this one appears to cover what's happening now. I would think it might make sense to keep them separate as travelers with upcoming plans will want to know actual changes taking place, and may not want to wade through discussions of predictions.

Did you have a look at Which longhaul routes to/from China will be cut by end of Q1 2020?
The thread also distinguishes between forecasted and confirmed cuts.

Again - no reason to open a new thread. I assume that the OP just didn't browse through the other topics before opening his own.

and may not want to wade through discussions of predictions.
Most predictions are right.

SAS has announced suspension of service to Beijing and Shanghai. It keeps scheduled service to/from HKG (for now at least).

NH flights between NRT and WUH suspended through end of February. CEO was quoted today as saying they're considering suspending all China flights.

DL suspending US-China service 2/6-4/30

American immediately suspending mainland China service through March 27. Service to HKG to continue.

UAL is drastically cutting back its China service except to Chengdu, going from 12 daily departures to PRC/HK SAR to four: https://hub.united.com/we-reduce-tra...644977745.html

DL/AA/UA all cut all mainland service for months. There it is. Updated post

Curious why CTU excepted earlier, probably because they're the only US carrier to serve it.

Haven't heard much in terms of fresh cancellations of service recently. Anything new that isn't covered here?

DL has suspended the MSP-ICN and vv nonstop. Other TPAC ICN flights are apparently still flying.

Also, the DL MSP-HND and vv nonstop is apparently still operating as planned.

I imagine they'll keep ICN given its status as their main connecting hub to asia.

DL is also suspending their MXP flights, but not FCO or other Italian airports (yet).

BTW, DL a SkyTeam/JV partner with AZ and as part of the alliance, there are lots of AF/KLM connecting flights to/from Italy through CDG/AMS, although surprisingly little service at more minor airports. For example, when I last checked, there was only one NAP flight unless one wanted to connect using AZ domestic (coach only) flights.
