To exit or not to exit? Sleep dilemna.
I arrive PTY at 7:42 am with a 15:23 connecting flight. I can use 4-5 hours of sleep. Has anyone gone to a local hotel and gotten back in time for their connecting flight? What was whole process like with leaving and arriving back at the airport? Thanks...

Won’t be an issue. If you are back to the airport by 14:00 you should be fine (go thru T1 imo, as it is normally a lot quicker than T2). I would cut it far closer to 1 hour before my flight (presuming no checked bags)
Lots of hotels in the area, can uber to one easily (taxi waiting in line in airport might be annoyed for such a short journey, unsure) Exit in whatever terminal you land in, but T1 near always quicker than T2. Just tell the person at immigration that you have no bags to collect and are taking a rest during a longer connection. Fill out customs form online before leaving Copa lounge in T2 might be an option instead |
Since past May there's no need to fill customs form arriving in Panamá (if nothing to declare)

Crowne Plaza and Riande are the two hotels closest to the airport, like a 5 minute ride. I prefer the Crowne Plaza
