Copa Miles Expired

When I went to book tickets in December I noticed both my sons connect miles balances were 0. Called Copa told they were expired. Apparently an e-mail was sent out but since I used "throw away" e-mails for their accounts I never checked them. I do not think it is right that during a pandemic and Copa is not flying that they would allow miles to expire. Very low class and annoying. Sent a few e-mails and so far they stand by their decision.

Not impressed with other issues of Copa but best for a different thread.

Dont use throwaway emails for important things.

this was sent on the 8th January 2021:

As we have done since April 2020, we will continue the promotion to allow members whose miles would otherwise expire to easily retain their expiredmiles. Affected members will be receiving personalized communication about this promotion.”

I wanted to use my e-mail for their accounts but could not but apparently now could but I cannot as it had to be done when creating the accounts.

I never received that or other e-mails as I have a Copa credit card.

Why not just extend everyones miles or reinstate miles when customers realize they have been robbed. Does not leave a good taste in our mouth that is for sure. When I could only leave the house 2 days a week for 2 hours a day worrying about my sons Copa miles was not a priority when all other airlines seemed to be extending them. We were just trying to avoid being part of the problem.

99% of sites will think that [email protected] is different to [email protected] and is different to [email protected] (they are not and all emails sent to any of them will go to the same inbox). You can also do [email protected] and [email protected] and they will all go to you

You got no email on the 8th Jan 2021 with the subject line “2021 Program Changes”?

When did the miles actually expire (day / month / year)?

copaflyer Jan 5, 2022 8:53 pm

Never new that with e-mails.

I did not as I have activity every month.

Apparently 1 son did other e-mail bounce back copa told me. Logging in today to verify recent activity I could have just completed step 2 for each for 500 miles and avoid all this but no reason for Copa to make customers jump through hoops to keep miles from expiring when planes are grounded and wait times are long.

Not sure why the 2021 program changes would not be emailed to you. It was an update to all program members regarding the changes for the program for last year, including new qualification levels etc. I also have the connectmiles credit card, from BG, and have activity on it each month.

Again, on what date did the miles expire (the date they were removed from the accounts)?

Understand the pain of losing miles, but seriously, these days an email account is the most important means of communication. Just how were they meant to reach you?

My sons will expire Jan 31 what do I need to do

My son only has about 20,000 but they will expire Jan 31 ,2022. Is there still some promo to extend them or do I just have to bite the bullet and buy 1,000 miles for $30. Thanks in advance
